MEET STATS: 97-35-16-13 / $196.60 (+$2.60) BEST BETS: 7-3-1-0 / $9.20 (-$4.80) SPOT PLAYS: 7-1-3-1 / $4.60 (-$9.40) BEST BET: PHELGON (7th) SPOT PLAY: LOUIS LITT N (9th) Race 1: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace - Pick 5 (4) JIM STRIKESITRICH caught a tougher group in his return from vacations and I usually like to wait a start with the Kleinhans horses after a break in action; great spot here. (1) SKYWAY BILLY isn’t a big winner anymore but he’s capable of sticking close in a race that on paper lacks a ton of early pace. (6) MAGRITTE has that high early speed should Capone want to use it. The only thing is this guy hasn’t been good in some time. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: Trackmaster 80 or less/Non-winners $3,000 in last 4 (4) CHAPALONIA was used from an outside post to make the front and can be excused for tiring some considering it was her first start since July. She should only be tighter this time. (9) JETT RINK has good speed off the gate and has been racing well at Pocono. (1) WIN TOGETHER S was winning races at Yonkers during the summer and has come back from vacation with a sharp qualifier; playable. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Meadowlands card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: Non-winners $5,000 (NW L2 $5,571) in last 4/TM 80.5 (NW L2/2L4 81/81.65) or less - Survivor 7 (6) MISS CHANTILLY N seemingly came up a bit short in her first race since early September but a closer look reveals some quick fractions and a winner who was pretty classy. She should be forwardly placed again and prove a serious win player. (3) MY AUGUST MOON A makes her return to the race off a pair of decent qualifiers and notice her last win came here in this condition. (1) REIGNING JADE sports good form at Yonkers and a past victory in a field’s best 1:50 1/5 over this track. Race 4: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace (3) YAYAS HOT SPOT N was toasted in his most recently qualifier, but in his defense that came against a horse that just won the Invitational at Yonkers on Monday. 14-year-old is a fit here if ready to roll. (2) CLAYTONS BETTOR N chased a quick half and faded last time. Improvement is within reach. (9) HELLO ROCKY hails from a barn that swept the amateur series a week ago. (4) FIRSTUP gets a new driver and a better post. Race 5: Trackmaster 74 (NW L2/2L4 74.5/75.1) or less (2) DON’TMESSWITHMAMA didn’t show much in her first stateside start from a tough outside post but crushed them at Monti in a very nice performance last time. She’s back on a big track now and seems worth following. (5) FASHION KEN was a good second here in a slightly tougher spot last time. He probably deserves to be the favorite now. (4) WHEELZABLAZIN is another just down from Canada and he has some fine form on his card; trainer change. Race 6: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 2 Pace - $50K GTD Pick 4 (2) MUSIC HALL has been on a good run with a pair of wins and a second in October. I’m not sure he is the best horse in the field but he does have good early speed in a field that seems to be light on that quality. (7) UP JOEYS CREDIT certainly needed the race last weekend after five weeks on the sidelines. Five-year-old has a big shot here if put in play. (9) SAND SNIPER is the other obvious horse with early zip in the field and he’s got plenty of form as well. (4) MUSCLE FACTORY A and driver Yogi Sheridan have seen good success in the amateur series. Race 7: Trackmaster 74 (NW L2/2L4/L5 74.55/75.2/75.71) or less You can’t see it in her PP lines but (3) PHELGON won her last start in this class and has a number of good performances here versus similar company. I’ll probably take my chances and single her in the Pick 4 for a barn that was perfect in two starts here last weekend. (5) AT THE TOP didn’t have it in her first start for new trainer Odza. Four-year-old has made some nice money thus far and deserves another look stretching out on the bigger track. (7) CATCH MY BREATH also moves back to a mile over and notice her lifetime mark came at Mohawk. Race 8: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace - Pick 6 (3) ROCK ON LINE, (5) CAPTAIN TERMINATOR and (7) BLOODHOUND finished one-two-three in an amateur race here last weekend. Of those, Rock On Line had the toughest trip while finishing with the best pace. He moves inside a bit and only needs to be kept in striking distance to win. Race 9: Trackmaster 74.5 (NW L2/2L4/L9 75/75.55/76.30) or less (6) LOUIS LITT N moved into this barn and was stuck in the eight-hole at Freehold in consecutive starts. He rallied very well for second last time and seems to be in a great spot versus a very soft group. (2) NATIONAL SPORT has some back class and perhaps he can tap into that tonight. (8) FERRAGAMO HANOVER is a bit of a plodder but one that can be a factor in a spot like this one. Race 10: Non-winners $7,500 in last 4/TM 83.5 or less - $50K GTD Pick 4 (3) CELIA B MONEY is back on the mile track and she’s done some good things here in this class. (2) UPTOWN HANOVER drops off a very good effort; hard to toss. (4) AVF CLAIRE has a dangerous combination – speed and form. I’m leaning against using her in the Pick 4 but wouldn’t be shocked if she beat me. Race 11: Non-winners $3,000 (NW K2 $3,401) in last 4/TM 77.5 (NW L2/2L4 78/78.5) or less (7) HIGH FASHION STAR gets a slightly better post to start from and drops ever so slightly in class tonight. (2) RIGHT MATCH hasn’t won since joining this barn but also hasn’t been on a big track. Don’t be surprised if she picks up her game tonight. (6) SANTAFE’S APPETITE seems to be slowly rounding into form and you know she can power home with the best of them. Race 12: Winners 2-4 (NW L2 or 3YO 5) races or $50,000 life (3) OAKWOOD HEYMIKI IR certainly looked good winning his debut qualifier on these shores. Irish import doesn’t exactly catch the strongest group and perhaps he’s ready to shine at first asking. (7) ITS SATURDAY NIGHT comes off a minor stakes win and really should feel comfortable with these unless the top one is a killer. (1) VANDIEMEN BLUECHIP was fourth behind #8 last time but his post and tactical edge give him a shot. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 13: Non-winners $7,500 (NW L2 $8,251) in last 4 or $10,401 in last 8 or $13,500 in 2024 (5) KINESIOLOGY wasn’t at her best perhaps on the half but returns to the bigger track tonight. It’s worth noting that she’s selling as HIP 1506 next Friday in Harrisburg and you have to think her connections will want her going out a winner. (7) LITTLE EXPENSIVE is the fastest horse in the race but one that accepts finishing second way too often. (4) LABYAD BROS S is an interesting shipper from Sweden that is worth some consideration and at least a look in the post parade. Race 14: Trackmaster 72 (NW L2/2L4 72.5/73) or less (5) SUNSHINE’S FINEST gets a key driver change here and I expect we’ll see a more aggressive try. (2) KATANA comes to town with decent form for a capable barn. (10) LOVIN ON YOU would be ranked higher from a better post. Can Miller get this guy into the race?
