HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Seize the Grey will get a chance to earn more Kentucky Derby points following his third-place finish in the Grade 3 Jeff Ruby Steaks last Saturday at Turfway Park. Trainer D. Wayne Lukas said Tuesday the horse is scheduled to make his next start in the Grade 1, $1 million Blue Grass on April 6 at Keeneland. Seize the Grey has 27 points for the Kentucky Derby and is 15th on the list administered by Churchill Downs. Lukas said he was encouraged by Seize the Grey’s effort in the Ruby. “He pulled up excellent,” he said. “He should have won that race. He got in a lot of trouble. He truly could have won that race.” Seize the Grey is a son of Arrogate who races for MyRacehorse. He came into the Ruby off a first-level allowance win at Oaklawn Park. Imperial Gun, who was fourth in the allowance, runs back Saturday in the Grade 1, $1.5 million Arkansas Derby. :: KENTUCKY DERBY 2024: Derby Watch, point standings, prep schedule, news, and more
