GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas – Lone Star Park puts on a strong card Sunday, with four of the nine races on the program allowances or optional-claiming races. There also are two maiden special weight sprints. Santino will start as a strong favorite in the seventh race, a conditioned allowance for fillies and mares at a mile on turf. She exits a fourth in the $100,000 Lone Star Park Turf Stakes. Danny Sorenson has the mount for trainer Matt Hebert. The field also includes stakes winner Silvercents, who makes her turf debut in what will be her first out since December. She is a half-sister to three-time turf winner Ubu. The multiple stakes winner Perfect to Please takes on the win-streaking Zoot Suit in the third race, an optional $40,000 claimer at five furlongs on turf. Rise Up, a millionaire who at 2 won the Grade 3 Delta Downs Jackpot, is part of a competitive field in the eighth race, an optional $20,000 claimer over 6 1/2 furlongs. He goes for the Lone Star Park Racing Club, which has grown from last year’s 74 members to 123 for the meet in 2019, said manager Diantha Brazzell.
