CYPRESS, Calif. - Lethal Cowboy 123 won California’s richest Quarter Horse race in his eighth and final start of the year in Sunday’s $1,832,950 Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity. Lethal Cowboy 123 ($10.80) caught early leader Brown Coffeee (4-1) in the final 100 yards to win the 400-yard race by a neck in 19.69 seconds under jockey Edwin Escobedo. Devils Tower, a 15-1 outsider, finished third, beaten a half-length. Devils Tower finished a length in front of even-money favorite American Dreamin, who was fourth in the field of 10. American Dreamin won the $1.07 million Golden State Million Futurity at 400 yards by a half-length over second-place Lethal Cowboy 123. Both won trial races for the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity on Nov. 24. :: Subscribe to the DRF Post Time Email Newsletter: Get the news you need to play today's races!  Lethal Cowboy 123, a gelding by Flying Cowboy 123, races for the partnership of Caliche Walls Ventures LLC, Alan Isbell, Lance Bland, and Jimmy Barton. The gelding, purchased for $150,000 at the 2023 Los Alamitos Equine Sale, has won 5 of 8 starts this year. Trained by Marc Jungers, Lethal Cowboy 123 earned $976,567 in a campaign that began with a win in a division of the Ruidoso Futurity trials in late May. Lethal Cowboy 123 was second in the Ruidoso Juvenile in June, the consolation of the Ruidoso Futurity, but failed to qualify for the Rainbow Futurity at Ruidoso Downs or the All American Futurity at the Downs at Albuquerque later in the summer. Sent to Los Alamitos for the fall, Lethal Cowboy 123 has won 3 of 4 starts with the loss in the Golden State Million his only defeat.
