Churchill Downs will make available approximately 15,000 infield-only tickets for the Kentucky Derby and the Kentucky Oaks beginning Wednesday at noon Eastern, the track said on Monday. The tickets, which will be made available for purchase on Churchill’s website, will represent approximately 25 to 30 percent of the “capacity” of the 22-acre infield, which is only open on Derby and Oaks days. The infield attendance record for the Derby was set in 2015, at 60,000, according to Churchill officials. Churchill is limiting frontside ticket sales at the Derby and Oaks to 25,000 to 30,000 this year, in line with guidance from state government and health officials. Infield attendees will not have access to the frontside, Churchill said. The infield tickets for the May 1 Derby will start at $75 if purchased prior to April 18, then rise to $80 between April 19-30, and $85 for day-of purchase. Infield tickets for the April 30 Oaks will start at $55 and end up at $65 on Oaks Day. :: Bet horse racing on DRF Bets. Double Your First Deposit Up to $250. Join Now.
