Keeneland has cataloged 169 horses for its April 2-year-old auction, which will take place on April 11 in Keeneland’s sale pavilion in Lexington, Ky. The 2011 catalog is 7 percent smaller than last year’s 181-horse catalog and features 2-year-olds by 72 different sires. Notably, it includes a colt from Storm Cat’s three-horse final crop. The colt is out of Grade 1 winner Halo America, by Waquoit. He is a full brother to graded-placed Marino Marini and a half-brother to graded-placed Quick Temper. The catalog also has juveniles from such freshman sires as Any Given Saturday, Corinthian, Flashy Bull, Half Ours, Hard Spun, the late Lawyer Ron, Political Force, Scat Daddy, Stevie Wonderboy, and Street Sense. Catalogs will be available online at www.keeneland.com starting April 21, and print catalogs will be in the mail duringthe first week of March. Keeneland will hold its under-tack preview on April 7 at 10:30 a.m. on the main track. The one-day sale will start at 4 p.m. on April 11. Keeneland will offer live streaming of both the under-tack show and the auction.
