Triple Crown winner Justify, who has emerged as a stellar young international sire, will stand for an advertised fee of $200,000 in 2024 at Coolmore's Ashford Stud in Kentucky, ranking him among the most expensive sires on the continent. Justify, by the late Scat Daddy, stood for $100,000 in 2023, after finishing third by earnings on the 2022 freshman sire earnings list, with six stakes winners. His fee has now doubled for the upcoming season with his success around the world. Justify has been given opportunities to succeed on a number of fronts, as he was supported by prominent mares from the international Coolmore group and other breeders in both the U.S. and Europe, and also shuttles to Coolmore Australia. The young stallion is the sire of 91 individual winners from his first two seasons at stud, including 22 stakes winners. Justify has made headlines in Europe this season with the exciting, unbeaten juvenile City of Troy, recent impressive winner of the Group 1 Dewhurst Stakes. In the U.S., Justify is the sire of dirt Grade 1 winners Arabian Lion and Just F Y I, as well as turf Grade 1 winner Aspen Grove, who had previously been a Group 3 winner in Ireland. His other standout runners in the U.S. include graded stakes winners Buchu, Champions Dream, Hard to Justify, Just Cindy, and Verifying. Meanwhile, in the Southern Hemisphere, the young stallion is represented by Australian group winners Air Assault and Learning to Fly and New Zealand group winner Star of Justice. The most expensive stallions in North America for 2024, from fees announced thus far, are four-time reigning leading sire Into Mischief at Spendthrift Farm, perennial classic sire Curlin at Hill 'n' Dale, and young phenom Gun Runner at Three Chimneys. All will stand for $250,000 in 2024, with Justify's $200,000 now slotting in just behind them. Flightline, the 2022 Horse of the Year, stood for $200,000 in his debut season at Lane’s End, with stablemate Quality Road also standing for the same amount. Lane’s End has not yet released its 2024 fees. Justify heads a 14-stallion announced roster at Ashford Stud, with classic sire Uncle Mo standing for $150,000.
