Following a spill in the second race at Emerald Downs on Friday jockeys Kevin Radke and Kassie Guglielmino appeared to have escaped serious injury, although Guglielmino did sustain a broken fibula. Radke rode the remainder of the card. The incident occurred when Parker’s Gold, with Radke aboard, went down after fracturing a leg nearing the quarter-pole while dueling between Gunnin for Gold and Deshambeau. According to track officials, the 2-year-old son of Gold Rush Dancer was later euthanized. Guglielmino was unseated when Secret Saga, the horse she was riding, stumbled while trying to avoid Parker’s Gold. Secret Saga appeared to be okay as he finished the race without a rider and walked off on his own accord.
