ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Jockey Emma-Jayne Wilson reportedly underwent surgery for a broken pelvis early Sunday after going down in a spill Friday at Woodbine.  Wilson was unseated aboard Ready Shakespeare along the rail on the backstretch in the second race. The Roger Attfield-trained Ready Shakespeare died of an apparent cardiac episode.  Wilson has won 55 races at the Woodbine meet and is tied for fifth in the standings with apprentice Pietro Moran, who fractured a vertebrae in a spill at Fort Erie in September and is out for the year. Both are represented by agent Tom Patton.  Wilson surpassed Julie Krone’s earnings record for a female jockey on July 11 at Woodbine when scoring aboard the debuting Perfect Lady Bee for Attfield. Her mounts have earned just more than $90 million.  :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering? Check out DRF's Handicapping 101 and Wagering 101 pages.
