Jockey Armando Ayuso, who has won 20 races at Santa Anita since Dec. 26, will serve two suspensions from Friday through June 16, the final seven days of racing at the current Santa Anita spring meeting, for causing interference in recent races. Ayuso, 30, was cited for his ride on Worth Looking in the second race on May 27, and aboard Hey Demps in the eighth race on May 31. Hey Demps finished second and was demoted to seventh. Worth Looking was not disqualified. The infraction on Worth Looking resulted in a three-days suspension. The sanction on Hey Demps was a four-day penalty because of a second careless riding offense in a 60-day period. :: Access morning workout reports straight from the tracks and get an edge with DRF Clocker Reports Ayuso will be allowed to ride stakes during the suspension dates because those races are exempt from routine penalties. Last weekend, Ayuso said he plans to ride during the three-week Los Alamitos meeting that begins on June 22. Timty switches stables Timty, a nose winner of his debut in a maiden race for 2-year-olds at 4 1/2 furlongs on May 12, has switched stables. Timty was trained by Luis Mendez for his debut and was recently moved to trainer Doug O’Neill. Tom Mayberry, a resident of Maine, purchased a share in Timty from previous owners Ty Leatherman and Tim Kasparoff, who remain part of the partnership, O’Neill said. Timty is a candidate for the $75,000 Everett Nevin Stakes at 5 1/2 furlongs at the Alameda County Fair in Pleasanton on July 7. O’Neill won the 2022 Nevin with the filly Vegas Magic. Timty, a California-bred by Stanford, disputed the pace in his maiden race win, edging Ivan the Great. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
