Jim Hilling, best known as the trainer of Show Dancer, second to Miesque in the 1987 Breeders' Cup Mile, died Tuesday of pneumonia in Mount Eden Hospital in Castro Valley, Calif., according to Golden Gate Fields. He was 66 years old. Hilling was based in Northern California from the mid-1970s until his retirement in 2007. He also handled many shippers from Southern California, including top runners for Hall of Famer Neil Drysdale. Services are pending.
