ARCADIA, Calif. - From sprints to one-mile races on the main track, Jibboom has conquered nearly everything she has tried this winter at Santa Anita. Making her third start of the meeting, Jibboom won the Buena Vista Handicap for fillies and mares on Monday, leading throughout and pulling away to win by 2 1/2 lengths. Sent off favored, Jibboom ($4.40) ran a mile on the Pro-Ride synthetic track in 1:38.68. The race was reduced to seven starters from 14 entries. Three fillies and mares ran earlier in the weekend, while four were removed from the race with the race was switched from turf to dirt because of wet weather early Monday. Ridden by Garrett Gomez, Jibboom set an early pace of 25.10 and 50.30 seconds and did not face a late threat. Foxysox, the winner of the Grade 3 Tuzla Handicap here on Jan. 24, finished second, three lengths clear of Tizfiz, the winner of the Grade 2 San Gorgonio Handicap on Jan. 4. Tizfiz was within a length of Jibboom for the first six furlongs, but could not keep pace in the final furlong. Jibboom won the Grade 3 Monrovia Handicap for female turf sprinters on Jan. 3, and was second to stablemate Ventura in the Grade 1 Santa Monica Handicap on the main track on Jan. 31. The Buena Vista was Jibboom's third stakes win. Owned by Juddmonte Farms and trained by Bobby Frankel, Jibboom, 5, has won 5 of 11 starts and $487,600.
