It will take a little more than three hours to run eight time trials for the Robert Adair Kindergarten Futurity at Los Alamitos on Sunday evening. Jeanetics, the attractive winner of a 300-yard maiden special weight race in 15.73 seconds on April 18, will be a strong favorite for owner and breeder Bobby Cox and trainer Jaime Gomez. Gomez has won the Kindergarten seven times, most recently in 2009. He has runners in all eight trials. There are 64 horses entered in eight trials, the third through 10th races on a program that begins at 9 p.m. Eastern, or 6 p.m. Pacific. Wagering is available through DRFBets.com. There are 21 first-time starters and 43 entrants who have raced at least once. There is one shipper: Political Babbel, who starts in the fourth race, was fourth and seventh in two races at Remington Park in March. Aside from Jeanetics, there are four other winners of 300-yard maiden races entered on Sunday. Oreeo was an 8-1 winner in 15.89 seconds on April 19 for trainer Monty Arossa, who has runners in four trials. Oreeo is likely to be favored in the fifth race. The sixth race field includes two winners – All Thats Considered in a maiden race for fillies in 16.03 seconds on April 19, and Jet Wings One, who overcame a stumble at the start to win on April 17 in a rapid 15.59 seconds. In the ninth race, Unstoppable One is likely to be a strong favorite on the basis of a maiden race win at even-money in 16.01 seconds on April 11. The third race, the first trial, could be a productive division. La Jaconde, second to Jet Wings One on April 17, will start against Hez Fired Up, who was second to Jeanetics, and against Tip Your Hat to That, who was second to Unstoppable One. Tip Your Hat to That is trained by Paul Jones, who also has runners entered in each trial. Of the first-time starters, Apollitical J Kite has had quick workouts in recent weeks, including 220 yards from the gate in 12.20 seconds on April 2. A gelding, Apollitical J Kite is trained by Juan Aleman and starts in the eighth race.
