DEL MAR, Calif. – Irv Noren, who spent 10 years as an outfielder in the major leagues and owned horses for many years on the Southern California circuit, died Friday morning at his home in Oceanside, Calif., according to Del Mar's publicity department. Noren, 94, played for the Washington Senators, New York Yankees, Kansas City Athletics, St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, and Los Angeles Dodgers, hitting .265 with 65 home runs and 453 runs batted in. He won the World Series three times as a player with the Yankees and twice as the third-base coach with the Oakland A's in 1972-73. He was an all-star in 1954, when he hit .319 and finished third for the American League batting title. He was a regular at Del Mar, which was a short drive from his home in northern San Diego County.
