The first session of the 2024 Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale was held on Friday afternoon at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis. A total of 173 yearlings passed through the sale ring. The group grossed $4.53 million and averaged $26,211, an increase of over 25 percent over last year. Two yearlings topped the session with $145,000 final bids. Rockin Image filly Ponda Type, HIP 132, was the first to fetch the top bid out of the Pond-A-Acres consignment. Three horses later, Tellitlikeitis colt Whatitisyo, consigned by Bontrager Stables, brought the same amount.
