The 2019 edition of the Standardbred Horse Sale in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, finished up on Friday with the second day of the mixed sale.  The topper was HIP 1624 Donttellmeagain, who was a buyback for owner Jon Paton at $400,000.  Consigned by agent Northwood Bloodstock Agency, Donttellmeagain, a 5-year-old Dragon Again gelding, has 19 career wins and earnings of $779,011.  He was second, beaten just a nose, in the Ewart at Scioto Downs in September and third in the Roll With Joe at Tioga Downs in August.  Last year he won the Graduate Series final and the Dayton Pacing Derby and was third in the Breeders Crown Open Pace. Hanover Shoe Farms purchased HIP 1463 Starita and HIP 1456 Percy Bluechip for $360,000 and $340,000, respectively.  Both consigned by Preferred Equine Marketing Inc., Starita is a 3-year-old daughter of Trixton who collected six wins and earned $307,696 in 29 career starts, and Shadow Play mare Percy Bluechip, last year's Breeders Crown 3-Year-Old Filly Pace champion, is a 12-time winner with a bankroll of $874,264. New York Sire Stakes champion 3-year-old filly trotter Quincy Blue Chip fetched $300,000, going to Steve Stewart of Hunterton Farm.  Quincy Blue Chip, a daughter of Chapter Seven consigned by Northwood, made 12 appearances in the winner's circle and pocketed $675,430. Rounding out the top five on the day were Medusa, consigned by Fox Den Farm as agent, and Lu's Illusion, another one consigned by Preferred Equine Marketing, who both sold for $250,000. Medusa, an 8-year-old Bettor's Delight mare who went over the $1 million mark in life's earnings in her most recent appearance at The Meadows, was purchased by Erika Sergent.  Medusa, out of the Artsplace mare Mythical, is also a full sister to Ontario Sires Stakes standout 2-year-old pacing filly Alicorn.  Lu's Illusion, a 3-year-old daughter of Sweet Lou, has won five of her 17 appearances, but most importantly for new owner Fair Winds Farm is that she's a half-sister to $2.7 million earners Rock N Roll Heaven and Clear Vision. The mixed sale average was $40,756 and the gross was $27,021,000 for 663 horses and stallion shares offered.  These were both significantly up from last year ($29,498 average and $18,259,000 gross for 619 horses and stallion shares available).
