HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. - Gulfstream Park will host the first ever United States qualifying races for Royal Ascot on May 13, the $100,000 Royal Palm Juvenile and $100,000 Royal Palm Juvenile Fillies, both to be decided at five furlongs on the turf. The winners of which will receive a $25,000 travel stipend and automatic entry into one of the six 2-year-old stakes offered during the 2023 Royal Ascot meet that runs from June 20-24. “1/ST Racing is thrilled to announce this new global partnership with Ascot Racecourse, and Gulfstream Park is honored to host two automatic qualifiers to challenge the world’s best at this year’s Royal Ascot meeting,” said Aidan Butler, chief executive officer for 1/ST Racing and Gaming. The six juvenile races during the Royal Ascot meet include the Group 2 Coventry at six furlongs on June 20; The Group 2 Queen Mary for fillies and The Windsor Castle, both at five furlongs, on June 21; The Group 2 Norfolk at five furlongs on June 22; The Group 3 Albany for fillies at six furlongs on June 23; and the listed Chesham Stakes at seven furlongs on June 24. :: Get Gulfstream Park Clocker Reports from Mike Welsch and the Clocker Team.
