NEW ORLEANS – Greg Tramontin has purchased a half-interest in undefeated Louisiana-bred 3-year-old No Parole from owner Maggi Moss. No Parole will stay in the barn of trainer Tom Amoss, who said there’s not a set plan for the colt’s next start. No Parole, by Violence out of Plus One, by Bluegrass Cat, has raced only in statebred-restricted competition but has crushed his rivals in three starts, winning a Fair Grounds maiden sprint by 14 1/4 lengths, a Fair Grounds sprint allowance by 13 1/4 lengths, and the Premier Prince on Feb. 8 at Delta Downs by 6 1/2 lengths. The Prince was a two-turn, one-mile race, though Delta Downs has a bullring oval with a short homestretch and No Parole hasn’t yet been tested in a true route – to say nothing of open stakes competition. No Parole has earned Beyer Speed Figures of 89, 86, and 79 for his maiden win, allowance win, and stakes win, respectively. :: To stay up to date, follow us on: Facebook | Instagram | Twitter No Parole vanned back to Fair Grounds from Delta on Sunday and got three walk days before returning to the racetrack Thursday morning, Amoss said. He’s likely to have a workout next weekend. No Parole will start in a Kentucky Derby prep race in his next start, that much seems certain, but when and where he runs is not. The local race for No Parole, the March 21 Louisiana Derby, will be contested at 1 3/16 miles, which could be a big ask for a speedy horse uncertain to stay. Oaklawn Park has the $1 million Rebel on March 14 over 1 1/16 miles. Tramontin, a Louisianan, is the founder and owner of GoAuto, a regional auto insurance company. Tramontin has owned horses before and has four wins under his own name but never has started a horse in a stakes race.
