Godolphin was named national owner of the year and national breeder of the year as the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association honored its annual award winners in Lexington, Ky. TOBA held both an awards luncheon on Friday at WinStar Farm, honoring state and Canadian breeders of the year, and an awards dinner on Saturday at Fasig-Tipton to honor all award winners, including national honorees. Godolphin swept TOBA owner and breeder honors for the second consecutive year, after also being voted the Eclipse Award honoree in both categories in both 2021 and 2022 as well. Godolphin also was named Kentucky's breeder of the year. The other finalists for owner of the year were Peter Brant, Hronis Racing, Klaravich Stables, and Winchell Thoroughbreds. The other breeder of the year finalists were Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings and Summer Wind Equine. Those other breeder finalists did take home hardware. Stonestreet homebred Dreaming of Julia was honored as the National Broodmare of the Year, after earlier this year being named Kentucky Broodmare of the Year, considered the highest honor in the category. The Cot Campbell Partnership of the Year was presented to the owners of Horse of the Year Flightline, which included his breeder Summer Wind, along with Hronis Racing, Siena Farm, West Point Thoroughbreds, and Woodford Racing. Elizabeth Merryman, who bred Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint winner Caravel, was named the 2022 National Small Breeder of the Year and Pennsylvania breeder of the year. Other regional honorees were Fleming Thoroughbred Farm (Arizona), Shortleaf Stable (Arkansas), Nick Alexander (Canada), Adena Springs (Canada), Flying Horse Farm (Canada Small Breeder), Arindel Farm (Florida), Justice Farms (Indiana), Poindexter Thoroughbreds (Iowa), Allied Racing Stables (Louisiana), Dance Forth Farm (Maryland), Lothenbach Stables (Minnesota), Bright View Farm (New Jersey), Bar Y Equine (New Mexico), Chestertown Farm (New York), Rockhouse Farm (North Carolina), Lisa Baze (Oregon), Franklin G. Smith, Sr. (South Carolina), Windy Hill (Texas), South Gate Farm (Virginia), and John E. Parker (Washington). In other awards presented at the dinner, Old Friends founder Michael Blowen was honored with the J. David Richardson Industry Service Award; Invaluable was honored as Claiming Crown Horse of the Year, presented by the National HBPA; the Rood and Riddle Sport Horse of the Year went to Satins Angel; and the Robert N.
