HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – G W’s Girl made her dirt debut a memorable one, when she closed through the stretch to catch 2-5 favorite Shisospicy and win the $150,000 Mockingbird by length at Oaklawn Park. It was another 5 1/4 lengths back in third to Chatter. The six-furlong race, which shared a card with the $250,000 Smarty Jones, was restricted to 3-year-old fillies. The track was fast on an overcast afternoon in the low 40s.   G W’s Girl ($12.80) made her first two starts on turf, winning her debut in a maiden special weight at Delaware Park. She then faced males when a close fifth at Keeneland in the Indian Summer won by Governor Sam, eventual third-place finisher in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint. “She’s a class filly, she showed that today,” winning trainer Greg Compton said in an interview conducted by Oaklawn. “Surface doesn’t matter.” :: Bet the races with a $200 First Deposit Match + FREE All Access PPs!
