Dreamfyre, a two-time Grade 3 winner who was beaten for the first time when ninth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Santa Anita on Nov. 3, returned to trainer O.J. Jauregui’s stable at Golden Gate Fields on Thursday following a three-week rest. Dreamfyre will resume training in coming days for a 2024 campaign. “I don’t have anything in mind,” Jauregui said. “When she’s ready, I’ll figure out a spot to run. “I think it’s better to see how sharp she is.” Should Dreamfyre race at Golden Gate Fields in early 2024 it would be her first start at the venue. She has trained regularly on the synthetic main track there for several months, but has raced at the Alameda county fair in Pleasanton, at Del Mar, and at Santa Anita. Owned by Danny Eplin, Dreamfyre has won 3 of 4 starts and earned $295,000. All of her wins have been in stakes, including the Grade 3 Sorrento Stakes at six furlongs on dirt at Del Mar in August and the Grade 3 Surfer Girl Stakes at a mile on turf at Santa Anita in October. Dreamfyre set the pace into the stretch in the one-mile BC Juvenile Fillies Turf but faded to finish five lengths behind Hard to Justify. Dreamfyre was briefly turned out at Legacy Ranch in Northern California in November, Jauregui said. :: Bet with the Best! Get FREE All-Access PPs and Weekly Cashback when you wager on DRF Bets.
