OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Trainer Ben Colebrook thought the $100,000 Correction looked like the ideal spot to bring Club Car back off a four-month layoff only to have Mother Nature intervene. While the Correction, lost when last Saturday’s card was canceled due to weather, has been rescheduled for this Saturday, there is some concern whether the race will go. There were only six entered for the Correction, and one of those fillies, Dontletsweetfoolya, opted for a Sunday allowance at Laurel Park. Prodigy Doll, another Laurel-based entrant in the Correction, had a minor issue when she shipped from New York back to Laurel on Saturday and is unlikely to be ready to run next Saturday, according to trainer Phil Schoenthal. Lastly, it’s likely Kept Waiting doesn’t enter back. Instead, she’ll likely await the Grade 3, $150,000 Distaff Handicap here April 9. On Sunday, Colebrook said Club Car would stay in New York for the time being, but he mentioned the possibility of also entering her in Saturday’s $100,000 Queen Stakes at Turfway Park. :: Get Daily Racing Form Past Performances – the exclusive home of Beyer Speed Figures “I think the [Correction] looked pretty good for her, so I’d be inclined to wait, but you’d look like an idiot if you miss the Turfway race,” Colebrook said. “Typical winter horse racing, you pick the right spot, plan and go, and Mother Nature gets in the way.”
