Florent Geroux won his 2,000th race in North America booting Warrant home to a victory in the fifth race Thursday at Fair Grounds.  Geroux, a 37-year-old native of France and a naturalized American citizen, began riding professionally in 2004 as an apprentice in his native France. He came to America in 2007 and launched a career here with help from trainer Patrick Biancone. :: DRF Bets players have exclusive access to FREE DRF Past Performances - Classic or Formulator! His first Grade 1 win came in 2014 when Work All Week captured the Breeders’ Cup Sprint. He was the regular rider on Gun Runner, aboard whom he won the 2017 Breeders’ Cup Classic and the 2018 Pegasus World Cup. Geroux in 2021 rode Mandaloun to a second-place finish in the Kentucky Derby, with the colt placed first in the race after Medina Spirit was disqualified.  Warrant races for Geroux’s most important supporter, trainer Brad Cox. Making his first start since July, Warrant has designs on the Santa Anita Handicap, where he was a close second in 2022.  :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
