LEXINGTON, Ky. – Flightline, the undefeated Breeders’ Cup Classic winner who is sure to be named Horse of the Year, will have a $200,000 fee in his first year at stud, according to an announcement by Lane’s End Farm, where the 4-year-old colt will stand next year. The $200,000 fee will be the highest since 2015 Triple Crown winner American Pharaoh went to stud in 2016. Flightline was retired a day after he won the Classic by 8 1/4 lengths. He won his six starts, including three other Grade 1 races, by a combined margin of 71 lengths and dominated in nearly every race he ran in. He recently received a 139 rating on the World’s Best Racehorse ranking, the highest rating ever assigned to a dirt horse. :: DRF BREEDING LIVE: Real-time coverage of breeding and sales Flightline is by Tapit, a sire of sires, and he is out of the Indian Charlie mare Feathered. Flightline is owned by a partnership that includes Summer Wind Farm, Hronis Racing, Siena Farm, West Point Thoroughbreds, and Woodford Racing. At the time Flightline was retired, the owners formed a breeding syndicate with 40 shares in the horse.
