According to NBC, the race portion of the broadcast was the most-watched Derby broadcast since 1989, with 16.3 million viewers. Last year, the race portion of the broadcast had 14.2 million viewers, a difference of 15 percent. Share, or the percentage of televisions in use that were tuned to the broadcast, was a 23, compared with 21 last year.
