Fasig-Tipton has cataloged 279 horses for its fall mixed sale, to be held Oct. 7 at the Humphrey S. Finney Pavilion in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. The catalog for the single-day sale, which is now available online, includes 110 weanlings, 106 mares in foal, and 58 horses of racing age and broodmare prospects. There are five early withdrawals. “Given the very positive momentum for New York-breds we all enjoyed at the sales in August, it is no surprise that the mixed sale catalog has such depth and diversity,” Fasig-Tipton president Boyd Browning said. “Pinhookers will be looking for weanlings to bring back to Saratoga in 2014 and breeders seeking to participate in the New York breeding program will find some quality pedigrees among the mares and broodmare prospects.” Fasig-Tipton inaugurated the Saratoga mixed sale last year, selling 119 horses for gross receipts of $1,933,600 and an average price of $16,249. The median was $12,000, while the buyback rate was 41 percent. The top-priced horse was Closing Move, a Bernardini filly who sold for $100,000 to Tom Voss. Print catalogs will be available in all Fasig-Tipton offices by Sept. 12. To view an online catalog, click here.
