Fantasioso was born and raised in Argentina, Another Mystery is from Illinois. The two came from half a world apart, but could not be separated at the conclusion of the 1 1/2-mile John B. Connally Turf Cup on Sunday at Sam Houston Race Park.   Another Mystery, following Fantasioso’s wide rally around the last of the Connally’s three turns, looked like he might have gotten his nose down at the wire, but the bob was kind to Fantasioso as the two finished in a dead heat.   Just inches behind them came Indiana-bred Strong Tide, part of a dramatic three-horse photo finish in the $200,000 Connally.   “He dived at the wire,” said James Gaham, Fantasioso’s jockey.   Seven-year-old Fantasioso won for the first time in nine starts since being imported from Argentina, where he was Grade 1-placed. Trained by Ignacio Correas, who co-owns Fantasioso with Bloom Racing, Fantasioso was the better-fancied of the two winners, racing from the rear third of the Connally field before commencing a three-wide rally around the far turn. Another Mystery, a 6-year-old ridden by Jareth Loveberry, was 11th of 12 down the backstretch but picked up the bit and shadowed Fantasioso’s bid around the turn. Strong Tide, who tracked the pace from third, accelerated when Fantasioso loomed at the quarter pole, Another Mystery joining the fray on the far outside as the trio came to the finish nearly as one.  Fantasioso, a 9-1 shot, paid $10.80 to win while 23-1 Another Mystery returned one $23.60 mutuel. Winning time over a firm course was 2:31.28. Ajourneytofreedom, the 8-5 favorite, briefly lacked room in the homestretch but had no real punch and checked in sixth.   Another Mystery upset the Bob Wright Memorial Stakes going 1 1/16 miles in late November at Fair Grounds, but could finish only eighth a month later in similar company. Chris Block, who trains Another Mystery for his breeder, the family partnership Team Block, said his horse didn’t care for the Fair Grounds turf course last month and appreciated a return to marathon racing.  “As my dad would say, he’s been crying out for three turns,” said Block, referring to his father, David Block.  Another Mystery is by Tempe City out of Ioya Two, by Lord at War. Fantasioso is by Strategic Prince out of Soy Maja, by Lucky Roberto.   Breeze Rider takes Jersey Lily Breeze Rider won for the fifth time in her last eight starts, going gate to wire under E.T. Baird in the $75,000 Jersey Lily Stakes.  Based in southern Illinois with trainer Steve Manley, Breeze Rider was claimed last January for just $15,000 by Manley and Mike Piazza Racing. She went on to win six times in 11 starts for her new connections last year, banking more than $200,000, winning at five different racetracks, and capturing stakes races late in the year at Fair Grounds and Turfway.   Rebounding from a lesser performance last out on dirt, her least-preferred surface, Breeze Rider set a slow pace under the veteran Baird, holding sway by three quarters of a length over longshot Quinn Ella. Arm Candy finished a neck farther back in third. Breeze Rider ran 1 1/16 miles over firm turf in 1:44.84 and paid $3.60.  Kentucky-bred Breeze Rider is by Paynter out of Dancing Raven, by Tomahawk.
