Sue Leslie, the president of the Ontario Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Association, has been elected president of the Ontario Horse Racing Industry Association. Leslie takes over from Hugh Mitchell, who recently was promoted to the position of chief executive officer of the Western Fair Association in London, Ontario. . . . The Old Friends equine retirement farm in Georgetown, Ky., has added Early Pioneer, winner of the 2000 Hollywood Gold Cup and earner of $1.5 million, to its roster of retirees. A 14-year-old Rahy gelding, Early Pioneer last raced in 2001.
