With most other North American sports being shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic, we hope the sport of horse racing can entertain you during these trying times. Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook; something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day's action. 1:30 GP 2nd Tons of speed in this contest not the least of which may come from the rail and TRULY AMBITIOUS (#1, 5-1) who returns to dirt off a couple of turf tries. Might stand some catching if away running for Rosario over a track that has been favoring speed over the main of late. -Mike Welsch 2:31 GP 4th An intriguing and classy MSW test on the turf for 3-year-old fillies with plenty of candidates to choose from, not the least of which may be Brown firster ALTAF (#1, 8-1) who should have little trouble handling the surface. Showed promise last summer working over the grass up at Saratoga. -Mike Welsch 2:05 OP 1st HALE’S ANGEL (#9, 6-1) spotted the field a number of lengths after a troubled start from the rail last out and still put in a determined run through the stretch for a surprising third. She could be closer to the pace this time around. -Mary Rampellini :: Bet the races online with DRF Bets. New members get $250 bonus 3:03 GP 5th GILDA F. (#7, 6-1) gave in form Baby Ice a run for her money before settling on second money last time and seems to have found a home for this tag. Need only repeat the try to register first win on dirt. -Mike Welsch 3:35 OP 4th FIGHT TO GLORY (#4, 7-2) was prominent last out when finishing second in a race that went quite quick. For the effort she earned what ranks as one of this field’s best last race Beyer Figures. -Mary Rampellini 3:45 GG 1st REBEL AT HEART (#4, 6-1) removes blinkers after a pair of starts with them and her best races to date have come without the equipment. The “blinkers off” move also is a high percentage one for trainer Steve Sherman, according to statistics from Daily Racing Form. -Mary Rampellini :: Shop DRF Past Performances, Clocker Reports, Digital Paper, Picks and more 4:06 OP 5th CARIBBEAN (#3, 6-1) has natural speed and draws an improved post over his last start. -Mary Rampellini 4:36 GP 8th DIXIEINCANDYLAND (#4, 9-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Welsch). 4:36 OP 6th SHE’S TOO COOL (#5, 12-1) ran once this meet back on Feb. 2, when owner/trainer Asmussen waived the claiming price to protect her, & now she shows up in a rich Arkybred allowance. Not a daily clocker at LAD so expect she’s worked far more regularly than the official tab says. Got good enough last fall that she could win this getting back to top performances from that period. – Marcus Hersh 5:23 GG 4th VIA ALPINA (#7, 6-1) might be one to use underneath some of the more logical choices. She’s back on a synthetic track here and the one time she ran over such footing she popped a career-high Beyer Speed Figure - at Golden Gate. -Mary Rampellini :: Get the DRF GamePlan Playbook each day with a DRF+ Pro subscription. She buried a decent horse last time and is very favorably drawn outside all the other speed in a pace-heavy field. By the time Josie gets rolling, M Blue might be long gone. – Marcus Hersh 6:54 GG 7th LADY OF PERCEPTION (#4, 12-1) has run two solid races (debut win, stepped in class second out for solid third at this level) in sprints and is bred more like a route horse. Want to see her galloping along prominently from the start in this $50K N2L starter. Marcus Hersh :: To stay up to date, follow DRF on: Facebook | Instagram | Twitter
