Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action. 1:32 KEE 2nd CANDYMAKER (#4, 20-1) showed little in two dirt starts but the more recent of them came back in May and she's getting a career reset with a new trainer who operates a small stable having a strong 2024. Also strong for a horse at this level, especially, are those TTC workout times - emphasis times, since I have no idea if the drills have been good. Just a suspicion we could see an entirely new and improved horses in a race looking for someone obscure to step forward. – Marcus Hersh | Bet this race with DRF Bets 1:45 WO 2nd TRICKY MAGICIAN (#3, 10-1) beat the good next-out winner Warp Drive when winning his last five-furlong inner turf try under Bynoe with a 79 Beyer in August. His two subsequent races on the Tapeta were lackluster and getting back onto the lawn could be just what the doctor ordered. – Ron Gierkink | Bet this race with DRF Bets 2:04 KEE 3rd ROYAL SPA (#4, 6-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Marcus Hersh). | Bet this race with DRF Bets 2:20 WO 3rd FRAC RIGHT (#7, 6-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Ron Gierkink). | Bet this race with DRF Bets 2:44 BAQ 5th VEKOMA'S WAR (#8, 8-1) is by new sire Vekoma, who is off to an excellent start - particularly with first time starters - and is 2 for 6 so far with turf routers; the dam posted her lone career win routing on turf and is a sister to two stakes winners on the surface; strongly bred for the grass for a trainer who is reliable with first time starters. – Mike Beer | Bet this race with DRF Bets 3:08 KEE 5th BOOGIE BODE (#1, 20-1) entered for the same claiming price paid three back, and the southern Illinois-based trainer plays the claiming game well - 24% with a $2 ROI on a good-sized sample. Cycling back to best now (did well to get up last time given the glacial pace) and his best is good enough to win this with a good (pocket?) trip from the rail. – Marcus Hersh | Bet this race with DRF Bets 3:17 BAQ 6th KING EXPRESS (#1-, 8-1) is a DRF Best (Mike Beer). | Bet this race with DRF Bets 3:29 WO 5th PINE KNOLL (#6, 4-1) placed in both of his starts at this level after beating $25K claimers with a big 96 Beyer going three-quarters Aug. 11. The veteran is versatile in terms of running style and should be dangerous with Hernandez back riding for Drexler, a successful combo. – Ron Gierkink | Bet this race with DRF Bets 4:21 BAQ 8th OVERACTING (#10, 4-1) was impressive winning her debut last summer on a fast pace; also ran well in her next two starts without winning; scored off the bench this year when forced to rate behind a longshot racing clear early, then disappointed a bit when back on turf in that last one, though she was in traffic for much of that trip before flattening out late; was listed as a vet scratch at the end of August at Saratoga bit has been given plenty of time and she has the speed to help deal with the outside draw. – Mike Beer | Bet this race with DRF Bets 7:30 SA 8th Notwithstanding the low figure (27 Beyer), SUNSET GRAZEN (#6, 5-1) ran well finishing third in her debut; she is the tepid choice to win second out running back at the same Cal-bred maiden-claiming level. She showed ability in pre-debut works, was well-backed at 2-1 odds, but lost her chance at the break. She took up and was shuffled, was climbing and uncomfortable and dropped to last, then gradually rallied to finish third under only light urging. She should make a forward move with a race under her belt. – Brad Free | Bet this race with DRF Bets
