Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action. 12:25 WO 1st LADY BREW (#8, 6-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Ron Gierkink). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 1:05 SAR 1st FOUR DAWN (#5, 4-1) got bet for her debut last month and wound up racing behind horses for most of that trip over a muddy track, before weakening late and going to her wrong lead; that might wind up being a valuable experience, and think she can do better as she moves to the outside for her second start with Saez sticking. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 1:41 MTH 4th CEDAR BEACH (#3, 8-1) may be looking for this race to be washed off the turf, as his dam was at her best on the main track, as was her only foal to win, Magnolia Blvd, who posted three victories in dirt sprints; she’s also been working well on the main track for trainer Mike Dini, though the barn’s record with firsters suggests this colt is a threat on either dirt or turf. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 1:55 WO 4th SIR SEAMUS (#12, 12-1) wired N1X opponents when switching from Tapeta to the turf in his second local appearance three weeks ago. There’s surprisingly little other speed in this N2X over the same course and distance, and he could strike again while the iron’s hot. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 2:32 WO 5th DR. GREEN (#6, 8-1) had tough trips in each of his last two outings on the inner turf, dating back to November. He got his number taken down in a controversial disqualification last summer on this course, which his new pilot Alderson rides well. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 2:32 GP 4th TIME TO WISH (#5, 8-1) is by a 17% debut turf sire. His dam never tried the green. One of three sibs won on the grass with another hitting the board. This gelding has improved his Beyer in every start but putting races together for the first time is more important. Not much pace in here so this guy should be forwardly placed with Zayas at the wheel. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 2:57 PIM 5th SEMPER FI’s (#2, 8-1) lack of early speed might put him behind the eight ball as he cuts all the way back to a sprint, but he’s won going short in the past and think he’ll wake up moving from turf to dirt for Mary Eppler. Faced a solid group in most recent dirt try at Delaware two back as the runner-up came back to finish third in a “twoother-than” with a 76 Beyer. Broke a beat slow, then seemed a bit uncomfortable in between rivals when possibly one-paced on the second turn. Marquez lands here instead of Jack Gave Back. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 3:06 MTH 7th JUAN BOLY (#2, 3-1) makes his first start off the Greg Sacco claim but while he’s up in price he’s at the same level, again facing non-winners of three; he faced these same runners three back, when he was third following a premature mid-race bid, and the Beyers he’s been posting put him on the short list of contenders. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 3:21 SAR 5th THIEF OF HEARTS (#7, 8-1) stepped up off the Churchill maiden win for a tag last time and, as it turns out, got in way too tough vs. odds-on, blowout winner Kaely’s Sister (85 Beyer); this filly actually took a run at that horse around the turn before proving to be no match and giving way, and I thought her maiden win was a solid effort. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 3:29 PIM 6th Trainer Kelsey Danner has saddled a couple of dirt-to-turf winners at Delaware this year and will try to repeat the feat with ALPHA ZULU (#5, 12-1), a half-brother to Grade 2-winning dirt router Recapturetheglory (also won on turf) and two other grass winners. The dam was stakes-placed on dirt at a mile, but also compiled a 6-1-1-4 record on turf with a 92 Beyer on the weeds. Washed off the grass in her debut, her most recent work matches up with Danner’s turf winner Vibernum (76 Beyer). Perhaps they breezed in company that morning. Marquez departs for Hey Babe. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 3:40 GP 6th DESIGNED TO DAZZLE (#12, 5-1) is by a 9% debut sire. Her dam went 4-0-0-1 and earned 5K. One of three sibs won but is a multiple winner of 137K on the grass. Team Danner is 21% when first on the turf. This filly is bred to like the green and draws outside. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 4:37 LAD 3rd WAR COUNT (#4, 6-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 4:56 MTH 11th SAVATIANO (#7, 3-1) hasn’t been out since May but he returns with a couple of very nice works showing for new trainer Guadalupe Preciado; he’s winless at this common distance but he was against the race flow on several occasions as a closer in paceless sprints and he can make the last run today given even a little help up front. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 5:05 SAR 8th MONTAUK DADDY (#8, 8-1) dueled and tired vs. better last time off the short layoff; gets a needed drop back down in class for this after less than three weeks away and will try to fire off to the lead once again. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 5:24 MTH 12th FORGOTTEN MISSION (#13, 4-1) is stuck on the AE list but he may well get a chance to run if this race is taken off the turf, and if he does he’s a huge threat to steal this; he comes off three straight races where he showed speed and faded in races where closers had the edge, and if he can get clear easily enough and relax some on the lead he can wire these. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 5:29 LAD 5th POINT OF DIRECTION (#8, 12-1) is by a 15% debut turf sire. His dam went 13-1-3-1 on the grass for 25K. Lone grass sib to this gelding is 1-0-0-0. Connections wanted the grass for debut but it was washed off. This guy got race experience and that is what matters. Notice that team Foster want two turns on the grass right back. Jock switch to Dominguez is noted. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 5:55 LAD 6th DOUBLE BOGEY (#5, 4-1) ran well one and three back with first time winners in between. Added half furlong helps theft chances. Main pace foe is the 6. This gelding returns to win distance. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 5:56 GP 10th ESPERANTO (#4, 8-1) tried tougher in his debut and it was two turns on the grass versus Saratoga foes. He actually beat a few home. Easy to dismiss 2nd start that was pulled from the grass. Layoff lines are of concern as is class drop to this level. First Lasix and solid turf breeding still make this guy the one to beat. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 6:21 LAD 7th ONE KING CAT (#7, 15-1) is the value. He has improved his Beyer in three straight. That return try three back at 9-1 was better than it looked as this gelding had never run decent on a wet track. Simply too far back two back with the tardy start but Beyer not terrible. You can see his most recent was better and remember that this guy has a turf top of 83. Another step forward makes him dangerous. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 6:36 DMR 4th He will not be 45-1 again this time, but EREBUS (#1, 7-2) is the right choice after a runner-up effort second start since being gelded. He made the lead between calls in the stretch, got collared late, and finished more than two lengths clear of third. Inside post no bargain, but he does have some speed and definitely is on the improve. -Brad Free | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 6:55 WO 12th SWEET SERENADE (#2, 6-1) was a chalky second to an impressive winner in her improved second start going 1 1/16 miles on the main turf. She’s negotiating a mile on the inner course in this contentious maiden special, and could prevail at a square price. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
