Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action. 12:25 LRL 1st NOBLE EMOTION (#6, 15-1) might be racing himself into shape for this, his third start following a 268-day break, and it's worth noting he prevailed going third after a 253-day break back in 2022. Broke sharp three weeks ago, tracked second-over behind the winner, eased out into the stretch, then couldn't muster up the needed response. Hoping for a stronger late bid for barn that went 4 for the last 10 (40%, $7.04 ROI) in third after layoffs between six months and one year. -Dan Illman | Bet this race with DRF Bets 12:50 MTH 1st Trainer Leopoldo Ortega put QUEEN CATALINA (#8, 5-1) on the grass for the first time last time and that effort strongly suggests she's a new horse on this surface; she closed with interest after racing well off a tepid early pace and she can make the last run today given a better set up. -Kenny Peck | Bet this race with DRF Bets 12:55 GP 1st BROMISTA (#7, 12-1) ran well in his debut and it isn't easy to go two turns on the grass in your first start let alone finish 3rd at 16-1. This guy actually improved his Beyer in his second start which was his first here. Class drop should make all the difference even if today's pace is only average and we even like the switch to the Tapeta. -Scott Ehlers | Bet this race with DRF Bets 1:34 BAQ 3rd AMERICAN GENTLEMAN (#5, 15-1) was protected in the return from a long layoff in January before going right back to the sidelines; looked like he might have needed that seven-furlong run three months later when making a move to contention before tiring; has something to prove now but figures tough at this level if he can still run. -Mike Beer | Bet this race with DRF Bets 2:20 MTH 4th TAPIT'S GIRL (#3, 9-2) gets back to the level of the claim two back, when she ran a deceptively good race for the show despite a slow start and a wide move on the turf; overmatched in her latest but eligible to improve today, especially given a clean getaway. -Kenny Peck | Bet this race with DRF Bets 2:31 LRL 5th JOYA DEL SUR (#12, 4-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Dan Illman). | Bet this race with DRF Bets 2:52 MTH 5th VENEZUELAN TRIUMPH (#7, 8-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Kenny Peck). | Bet this race with DRF Bets 3:32 WO 5th GOOD AS GONE (#5, 8-1) has worked strongly for her first outing since the fall and is debuting for a trainer with good stats with new shooters. The daughter of Nyquist missed the board in both of her grass starts at Santa Anita at 2, but could be rejuvenated at age 4. -Ron Gierkink | Bet this race with DRF Bets 3:35 LRL 7th FIVE DREAMS (#7, 6-1) ran third in the 2023 Fire Plug in his only prior start over this surface, and he exits a game try at Parx earlier in the month. Set a pressured pace inside 3-1 third-place finisher Didinger, finally got the better of that foe in midstretch, then was nipped on the line by a closer in a three-horse blanket photo. Don't think he necessarily needs the lead to succeed, and might opt for tracking tactics while outside and in the clear. -Dan Illman | Bet this race with DRF Bets 4:11 BAQ 8th EPIC MISS JUSTICE (#6, 9-2) improved when brought back as a 3yo with a trainer switch last year; maiden win came over less-than-firm turf at Saratoga, after which she went away, and she has switched trainers again since; might be prepping as she starts back from the long layoff going six, but her pedigree is all sprint on the bottom. -Mike Beer | Bet this race with DRF Bets 4:36 WO 7th WITTY (#9, 6-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Ron Gierkink). | Bet this race with DRF Bets 4:42 BAQ 9th SHERIFF BIANCO (#5, 5-1) rarely wins but always shows up, and there are enough questions surrounding the "faster" horses in this field to make him interesting at a price; can do anything but he is better sprinting; cuts back out of a fast race around two turns at Saratoga. -Mike Beer | Bet this race with DRF Bets 5:08 WO 8th STANLEY HOUSE (#4, 8-1) cleared the second allowance condition off an extended layoff May 17 and then avoided a possible bounce when bypassing the June 1 Eclipse Stakes to wait for this G3 fixture. He's been working right along, as usual, and could parlay a stalking trip into this first stakes victory. -Ron Gierkink | Bet this race with DRF Bets 5:44 BAQ 11th J J'S JOKER (#1, 15-1) established form on the main track that made it easy for his prior connections to keep him there - and spending the winter at Oaklawn gave them no other options, anyway; stretching back out is fine, and think he is interesting switching to turf for Sharp considering the bottom of his pedigree, which is strongly slanted toward the grass; perfect post and blinkers on at a price. -Mike Beer | Bet this race with DRF Bets 6:10 CBY 1st RYNOTOGRACE (#6, 8-1) is by a 14% debut sire. His dam missed the board in her only start. Lone sibling to our top pick is 6-3-0-0 and earned 50K. Works are solid but that recent drill which was 4th best of 44 might tip hand. -Scott Ehlers | Bet this race with DRF Bets 6:13 WO 10th FOREVER DIXIE (#3, 15-1) has the look of a live longshot in this tough G2, which was won by her stablemate and future Canadian Horse of the Year Fev Rover last year. She's worked nicely under Husbands since finishing third in the G3 Belle Mahone on Tapeta and was previously victorious on the Gulfstream grass. -Ron Gierkink | Bet this race with DRF Bets 7:40 CBY 4th FINNLEY'S KITTEN (#9, 6-1) tried this sod for the first time last out and beat half the field home at 9/2. She adds a half furlong today and figures to improve 2nd time this sod. She is bred to like the green and we think this mare is still improving even as a 6YO. She only has 20 starts which isn't that many. Perhaps she needs a faster pace and that will happen today. -Scott Ehlers | Bet this race with DRF Bets 9:10 CBY 7th WAR RASCAL (#1, 12-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers). | Bet this race with DRF Bets
