Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook; something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day's action. 12:40 GP 1st LEFTEMBEHIND (#2, 12-1) is a first time gelding, first time Lasix, first time turf-er who might offer some value in this spot. Encountered trouble right out of the gate in both previous starts. Has held own in the a.m. with some decent work mates on turf including maiden winners Shinsun and Siege of Boston. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race  12:50 TAM 2nd KENYA SUN (#4, 4-1) comes off a deceptively good effort, where she was off slowly but moved up with interest and closed some ground in the lane without threatening for a share makes her first start off the claim here and figures to use her tactical speed to her best advantage. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race  1:25 LRL 3rd DEARLY (#5, 10-1) is a half-sister to debut winner Great Start (won at Timonium for this barn at 4-1 odds in 2014) by high-percentage first-out stallion Great Notion (16% winners compared with 10% industry average). March 10 workout matches up with barn's 3-year-old gelding Imagine It (53 Beyer). Perhaps they breezed in company. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race  2:07 OP 2nd RELENTLESS ROCKET (#7, 9-2) was 5-2 facing nine foes at this level last out because of her bad-trip debut, where she had run on two occasions, was stopped cold (the rider overreacted) on the turn, then got in a tight spot mid-stretch before finishing fastest and quickly galloping out in front. -Marcus Hersh | Get PPs for this race  2:08 GP 4th W. P. CADET (#4, 6-1) showed some improvement going two turns on Tapeta now returns to main, shortens up, may be sitting on best yet at a square price. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race  2:24 LRL 5th MAD GENIUS (#7, 8-1) returns to the circuit after a game victory over two next-out winners at Charles Town. Broke a beat slow, but soon went up to set the pace outside of 2-1 shot Scintillio (finished fifth). Cleared to the lead and the rail, fended off the runner-up's strong challenge on the second turn, then was geared down under the wire. This is a tougher spot, but the gelding has speed and shows a recent bullet work for high-percentage barn. Expect him to get close to the pace. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race  3:00 TAM 6th WHISTLEWHILEYOUMOW (#1, 12-1) has more speed than he showed in that last one, as that pace-packed sprint made it tough for him to make the lead ("C" symbol in DRF pp line indicates a race flow that favored closers, thanks to a plethora of early speed in the field); he can be expected to be on or near the lead today given a clean break from the fence and he can wire this field if he can establish a loose lead in the opening stages. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race  3:08 GP 6th EXACT ESTIMATE (#8, 9-2) idle since finishing fourth in a super key race from which three of the four starters who ran back won next starts including Artorius, who captured the Curlin off that event. Should handle the turf being kin to Avenue who is multiple graded stakes placed on grass. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race  3:17 OP 4th I'll guess it was the move from synthetic and turf to dirt more than the cutback from routes to a sprint that produced a career-best for BUCKTOWN (#5, 8-1) in his last-start Tampa Bay maiden win. The big longshot who held second there returned to win a Tampa MSW, and Bucktown, looking the part of the route horse he's bred to be, finished with good energy and appeared to have plenty left on the gallop out. -Marcus Hersh | Get PPs for this race  3:30 TAM 7th ASSERT DOMINANCE (#5, 5-1) ran big in defeat in that last start, coming up a half-length short after getting bumped at the start, making a middle move on the turn and closing nicely up the inside; meets richer but he is at the same class level, facing non-winners of three once again. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race  3:57 AQU 6th LUNA LOCA (#1, 6-1) doesn't have much turf in her pedigree and wasn't competitive when switched to that surface early on; returned to dirt with a pair of easy wins two and three starts back, the second of those while handling a cut back in distance; drops out of the Maddie May with Lasix on for the first time and might go overlooked in this spot. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race  4:30 TAM 9th SIMMS (#5, 8-1) had all kinds of trouble in that last try but he kept persevering, and he was running on late despite the traffic trouble in the lane; makes his first start off the claim for trainer Maria Bowersock and he has lots of room to improve if he's able to work out a clean trip. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race  4:36 GP 9th SADE PURSE (#1, 20-1) getting some class relief and a rider change off the bench. Will need some help with the pace but perhaps a bit of a sleeper at this level in finale. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race  5:00 AQU 8th SUPERB SURPRISE (#6, 6-1) a firster with pedigree, being a full-brother to multiple stakes winner Super Surprise, who topped out at 96 on Beyer while winning 4 of 9 and over $400k; debuts for a capable first-out trainer with some quick works showing. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race  5:54 OP 9th RAM (#10, 30-1) didn't race for a year and barely raced last month in his return from the long break - blew the first of two turns and was eased. Subsequently turned in two bullet workouts and I like him as a price shot closing late into what ought to be a wilting pace. Granted, it was seven furlongs, but his 2021 Perryville says he's not an impossible chance here. -Marcus Hersh | Get PPs for this race  7:40 SA 8th PEPPERMINT FLIRT (#7, 12-1) could make some noise at a price. The filly showed turf talent in the summer of 2021 but was then gone over 17 months. She came back a bit dull in a turf sprint here Feb. 19 but surely needed that race. It's nice to see no subsequent layoff or drop, she moves to a route which she might prefer and brings a bullet work into this to indicate she's doing well. -Michael Hammersly | Get PPs for this race  8:12 SA 9th FINNEUS (#2, 6-1) hasn't been at his best of late and hasn't won in a while but he's capable of better than his recent work, there's no panicky drop and he lures the meet's leading rider. There is a sense of urgency to show more, however. -Michael Hammersly | Get PPs for this race  8:27 GG 7th HALLELUJAH BABY (#7, 6-1) set the pace in an $8,000 claimer for maidens on Feb. 24 and was caught late, losing by four lengths to a filly who closed from last. Hallelujah Baby may set the pace from the outside post in this field of seven, which seems her best chance for a breakthrough result in her fifth start. An early lead may be key. She did not show an inclination to run past rivals in her first three races. -Steve Andersen | Get PPs for this race
