Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action. 12:25 LRL 1st NUWANDA (#5, 8-1) didn't have the cleanest trip going two turns 20 days ago. Stalked from just off the rail, saved ground in midpack, was on hold on the fence on the second turn, then raced over in behind horses in traffic. Curious to see if this sprint distance is too sharp, but she easily exceeded today's Beyer par over this trip three back, and now double-drops into this conditioned claimer after facing several multiple-race winners. -Dan Illman | Bet this race with DRF Bets 1:10 WO 1st SPEEDY EXECUTIVE (#5, 8-1) is by the popular Ontario sire Souper Speedy and her dam was a stakes-winning router who produced stakes winner Bear Paw and the hard-knocking sprinter Still Krz ($426K). Apprentice Moran is 1 for 3 for this low-percentage first-out trainer. -Ron Gierkink | Bet this race with DRF Bets 2:33 LRL 5th SHERO (#7, 12-1) listed as a Delaware vet scratch on 6/12, switches surfaces as a Bayern (16% with turf sprinters) half-sister to two turf winners out of a dam that won sprinting on the lawn. Sixteen-time winner broke two lengths slow in recent dirt start, raced far back behind a solid pace, altered course to the far outside in upper stretch, then came with a good run for third. Expect her to be a great deal closer to the pace for barn that went 8 for the last 19 (42%, $2.81 ROI) off the claim. -Dan Illman | Bet this race with DRF Bets 2:54 WO 4th SILENT SKY (#7, 4-1) beat a solid group of NW2 females in her seasonal bow and finished a creditable fourth most recently against male NW3 opposition. She should rule the roost vs. these NW3 distaffers while switching from Tapeta to turf, over which she was competitive on both courses last year. -Ron Gierkink | Bet this race with DRF Bets 2:56 MTH 3rd HIPATIA (#7, 20-1) is an upgrade candidate off that last running line, when she was caught off the pace in a race that was very light on pace, and thus set up well for the speeds (note the inverted "S" in DRF pp line); she moves back to the turf for this but she has run well enough on this surface in the past to suggest she's a major contender in this one if she can take a step forward in her first start for new connections. -Kenny Peck | Bet this race with DRF Bets 3:04 LRL 6th I KNOW MAP (#6, 10-1) is unbeaten with Lasix, and he'll get the medication once again after being overmatched in a couple of stakes races. Looked good winning here three back as he settled at the tail end of the field behind a quick pace, was held up in behind horses at the three-sixteenths pole, altered course to the inside, then weaved his way through horses to prevail. The fourth-finisher from that heat then placed for the $62,500 claiming option with an 85 Beyer. Expect a late flurry for barn that went 8 for the last 25 (32%, $3.79 ROI) moving turf to dirt. -Dan Illman | Bet this race with DRF Bets 3:09 BAQ 5th SOLO'S FURY (#1, 8-1) flashed some ability on debut last summer when making a wide move after failing to break sharply from the gate; improved to win his next start easily, then got in very tough in his final two starts as a 2yo; back from the layoff with forward to go, and Lasix and blinkers on. -Mike Beer | Bet this race with DRF Bets 3:24 MTH 4th BALENCIAGA BETTY (#5, 6-1) was against the race flow in each of her last two starts, her first two races after an extended break, off the pace in a short field last time and pressing the leader in her first start back, a sprint that set up very well for the closers; could be rounding to her best try yet in her third start off the hiatus. -Kenny Peck | Bet this race with DRF Bets 3:27 GP 6th GRIDLOCK (#6, 6-1) ran great in her first two starts and both came on the Tapeta. She didn't fire in her third start but perhaps something went awry hence the layoff. Works are perfect and we like this outside draw. This filly won her debut which bodes well for her return. The better price of the Joseph barn mates we would think. -Scott Ehlers | Bet this race with DRF Bets 3:59 GP 7th LIGHTNING TONES (#2, 8-1) tried a tough seven panels off the layoff yet still beat over half the field home. He was buried on the rail in his most recent but still beat a few home. He puts three races together and gets better race flow today all from this inside post that isn't the rail. This gelding was facing better before the layoff. -Scott Ehlers | Bet this race with DRF Bets 4:05 LRL 8th EXCULPATORY (#7, 8-1) was wired two back when forced to track four-wide wide through the turn and into the stretch. All in all, he ran pretty well to finish third despite all of that ground loss, and don't think the trip worked out for him last time out either. Prompted the razor-sharp favorite from the outside over a rail-friendly track, then couldn't go with that one in the stretch. Think he'll revert to stalking tactics here. -Dan Illman | Bet this race with DRF Bets 4:30 GP 8th NEOM CITY (#6, 8-1) ran OK in her last two starts and both came on the green. Her turf Tomlinson of 235 is sub par so maybe, just maybe, a different surface would be more appropriate. Those recent turf tries do prove that this 3YO is capable going two turns. Race flow is OK and we like that regular rider tags along. -Scott Ehlers | Bet this race with DRF Bets 4:42 BAQ 8th BLUE PLATE SPECIAL (#3, 5-1) earned a career-best 87 Beyer winning on short rest off the claim for Persaud in February, then just missed in. a 3-way photo when up in class for his next start; had little chance in that last one when away from the gate slowly and trying to close from last in a race that was holding together up front; well-spotted after getting a brief freshening. -Mike Beer | Bet this race with DRF Bets 5:13 BAQ 9th CHARMING JIM (#1, 9-2) was rained off the turf in his debut and looked very green in that race while dropping back through kickback; got to turf in his next start and improved to finish a rallying third after getting bumped hard at the start to wind up last; only other turf start came in a much tougher MSW field; third off the layoff and breaking from a perfect inside post after getting rained off twice. -Mike Beer | Bet this race with DRF Bets
