Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action. 1:44 SAR 2nd SOUPER SUCCESS (#6, 12-1) has improved since being claimed in January despite not showing a win from the first five starts for the new connections; made a game run along the rail before gamely getting second behind a stakes-quality sprinter when back on turf three back, then got caught contesting the pace in his next start; thought he had trouble getting clear in that last one, which is not noted in the chart. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 2:15 GP 4th ORGANIST (#3, 2-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mary Rampellini). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 2:28 MTH 2nd COAL MINE (#2, 9-2) was overmatched against allowance company in that last one and she was in against richer (and against males) in her first start off the claim; she was a prompt winner in that race and the fact that she can rate and make one run should mean she's well spotted just off the leaders once again. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 2:42 GP 5th THENORTHREMEMBERS (#2, 4-1) is a five-time winner facing some less-experienced foes. He also ran a big race last time on the cutback from two turns to one. -Mary Rampellini | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 4:00 SAR 6th FARADAY (#9, 12-1) debuted last October in a race that was dominated on the lead and he was away from the gate poorly in that spot, before looking green in the early stages while outrun; showed some late interest in that spot with no chance to make an impact; bred to get better with time and distance and he is a new gelding for the 3yo debut. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 4:20 MTH 6th FORTY STRIPES (#2, 10-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Kenny Peck). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 4:34 SAR 7th KREESA (#6, 8-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Beer). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 4:48 MTH 7th BE HERE (#3, 6-1) caught the eye with a strong inside rally in the late stages when last over this course, and though he failed as the favorite at Belmont in his return he closed nicely despite tepid fractions; can pay quick dividends for new trainer Mike Dini, who claimed him last time, as there's a fair amount of speed to his outside. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 5:44 SAR 9th TIZ A GIANT (#5, 10-1) tailed off a bit after running well in each of his first two turf starts as a 3yo, though he did earn a maiden win on the all-weather when dropped in class; drops back down for this after racing wide and failing to land a blow vs. tougher off the layoff last time. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 6:45 SAC 5th TERRY'S BOY (#3, 3-1) has won three of his last five starts since February by closing from off the pace. The same style may work in this small field with an expected quick pace. Terry's Boy finished in a dead-heat for first in a race at this $25,000 claiming level at Pleasanton on July 2 with Honeymoonz Over, a contender in this field. -Steve Andersen | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 7:15 SAC 6th HONOS MAN (#5, 3-1) may inherit a very good trip in this $40,000 claimer at a mile. Honos Man drew the outside post in a field of five and will be tracking such speedy runners as ANITANEWMERCEDES and SEATTLE BOLD. Honos Man won his 2023 debut in an allowance race at 1 1-16 miles at Pleasanton on June 18, closing from last of six to lead in the stretch. This slightly shorter race should not pose a problem for the five-time winner. -Steve Andersen | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 9:00 DMR 5th Second-time starter PANTHERA'S FATE (#5, 4-1) ran a lot better in his debut than his eighth-place finish indicates; the sprint-to-route gelding can handle this Cal-bred maiden turf mile. In his turf sprint debut, he broke last, rushed forward while rank, was hard-held and blocked into the lane, then finished evenly. Promising effort first time out. Although sprint-to-route second out is a big ask for a maiden, trainer Phil D'Amato is 10-for-34 with the turf move the past five years. -Brad Free | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 9:30 DMR 6th COFFEE IN BED (#9, 5-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Brad Free). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
