Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action. 12:50 TAM 2nd PURE ELEGANCE (#7, 5-1) was against a bias two back and she returned to run a big race for the win last time on the hike in class, closing up the rail to win going away; can repeat today given a quick, contested pace to chase. -Kenny Peck | Bet this race with DRF Bets 12:56 LRL 2nd WONDER WATER (#5, 8-1) scored off a 126-day layoff at Pimlico last spring, so not too concerned about the 142-day freshening leading up to this. Faced three next-out winners in her final start last year with third-finisher Fieldstone returning to grab a $15,000 "three-life" seller at Mahoning with a 73 Beyer. -Dan Illman | Bet this race with DRF Bets 1:00 KEE 1st They thought enough of homebred IDALOU (#6, 20-1) last year to give her two shots in MSW competition, one at KEE over this Beard Course trip - over-matched and likely under-developed. Improved subtly in OP comeback run; broke all right but an early hiccup sent her to the reasr, and she was fastest among a dozen during a middle portion before tiring late. -Marcus Hersh | Bet this race with DRF Bets 1:51 AQU 2nd AZTEC (#3, 6-1) got good last year while winning three of his last four and earning a series of competitive figures; caught a sloppy track trying entry-level allowance rivals in the NY debut off the layoff and wound up wide while not appearing to be too comfortable with the footing; drops looking to rebound. -Mike Beer | Bet this race with DRF Bets 2:14 GP 3rd SLIDE SHOW (#3, 8-1) one of four first timers facing difficult task of going two turns off the bench although has shown promise in the a.m. and is a half to 7 time winner Sir Seamus, 6 of whose victories came on grass. Fitness the question having disappeared from tab for 5 weeks before coming back with a couple of sharp main track moves. -Mike Welsch | Bet this race with DRF Bets 2:23 AQU 3rd CRITICAL THREAT (#6, 5-1) scored an easy win for half this price two back and was claimed; stretched out to a mile last time and ran well again while involved on the pace in a race that ultimately went to closers; draws outside cutting back while off the claim again, this time for a dangerous owner. -Mike Beer | Bet this race with DRF Bets 2:36 KEE 4th BEDAZZLE 'EM (#10, 8-1) got moved to Bill Mott after two pretty promising runs to start her career last fall, the first a tough-trip decent debut over the KEE surface. Mott removed blinkers but and Bedazzle in her Florida start was compromised by an awkward stumbling start. She appeared to resent kickback and didn't travel comfortably down the backstretch but did come with a nice sustained run for a solid second. -Marcus Hersh | Bet this race with DRF Bets 3:03 LRL 6th BLUE TRILLION (#10, 8-1) bounced out to the lead from the rail last month, then held well for second with a solid gallop-out. She seems to have found her correct class level for owner-trainer combo that sent out 7-1 winner Armando R here on 3/30. She doesn't need the lead to succeed, but figures to be right in the thick of things when the field turns for home. -Dan Illman | Bet this race with DRF Bets 3:18 GP 5th K. C. CHIEF (#7, 6-1) chased runner-up FighterintheWin two back for twice this tag, the latter returning off the race to win a $35K with an 82 Beyer. Drops to weakest level yet. Could stand some catching if able to shake loose for this tag making third start of current form cycle. -Mike Welsch | Bet this race with DRF Bets 3:22 TAM 7th BOLD LOOK (#10, 10-1) has been closing well while too late in recent tries but she may be able to finally get there today at this slightly longer distance; she was off the board when sent nine furlongs back in November at Laurel but that was actually a very strong effort, considering the unfavorable pace scenario, and it could well be that she has just been looking for more ground. -Kenny Peck | Bet this race with DRF Bets 3:50 OP 5th LIFE ON THE NILE (#7, 5-1) was second at this level last time and is a logical choice back. He has speed in an asset that should serve him well in mile race that ends at the sixteenth pole. -Mary Rampellini | Bet this race with DRF Bets 3:52 TAM 8th RED HOT MESS (#2, 12-1) has been away over a year but she lands in a very good spot for this return, as she is a proven closer in a sprint that features a fair amount of early zip; note the win back in August of 2022 in her first start back following an extended break. -Kenny Peck | Bet this race with DRF Bets 4:02 AQU 6th SHOOPTHEREITIS (#3, 6-1) faced a tougher field at a mile last time and was no match while lasting for a distant third; turned back to sprint at this level two back and lost her best chance when getting shuffled behind horses in the stretch; cuts back again with Franco taking over. -Mike Beer | Bet this race with DRF Bets 4:12 KEE 7th HARBOR SPRINGS (#2, 10-1) ought to fall into a mid-pack trip racing along the rail, which should be fine, since that's the type of journey she got in her debut and handled it with a positive attitude. Ran into two nice horses in that first start (Ghalia Princess a recent NY stakes winner) and might have just slightly run out of gas the final half furlong, though she wasn't winning anyway given the way things unfolded for her. -Marcus Hersh | Bet this race with DRF Bets 4:20 GP 7th MONEY IN MOTION (#1, 9-2) the only member of this lineup with a win over the turf, graduating for a midi-tag while getting Lasix, blinkers for the occasions. Worked well exiting the outing. Might handle the hike to this level with another forward move. -Mike Welsch | Bet this race with DRF Bets 4:22 OP 6th NEPAL UP (#5, 9-2) is a Trail's End prospect for Van Berg and as such figures to appreciate the mile and three-sixteenths distance in this spot. -Mary Rampellini | Bet this race with DRF Bets 4:44 KEE 8th Hard to see how CAN GROUP (#10, 12-1) could be anything approaching the 12-1 morning-line odds. His Lecomte is a complete toss, connections giving the colt one chance to show them he shouldn't be on the Derby trail, which he emphatically confirmed. Won the Bourbon on this course after Kentucky Downs maiden score, and finished like a rocket in the BC Juvenile Turf, turning in the fastest final quarter mile while being left with too much to do. In fact, don't see why, based on the turf form, he's not the deserving favorite. -Marcus Hersh | Bet this race with DRF Bets 6:36 SA 6th This maiden-32 is a good spot to take a shot with potential longshot MONGOLIAN FROST (#6, 6-1), a second-time starter whose debut at Los Alamitos was better than it looks. Racing 1,000 yards, he broke slowly and checked to fall far off the pace, uncorked a middle move, and finished willingly for third while beaten only two lengths. He stretches to six furlongs, meets a modest field, and with a clean break can improve enough to spring the upset. -Brad Free | Bet this race with DRF Bets 8:09 SA 9th Blinkers-on second-time starter MATINA (#7, 6-1) should move up a ton after an uncomfortable-trip debut in which she finished next-to-last. She wore blinkers in her impressive gate workout one week ago (viewed on XBTV.com), and looms a potential pacesetter second time out. Tab for an upset. -Brad Free | Bet this race with DRF Bets
