Down Town Allen became the first West Virginia-bred female to surpass $1 million in earnings and remained perfect in six starts this season by winning Saturday night’s $51,000 My Sister Pearl Stakes at Charles Town. A 7-year-old mare owned and trained by John Casey, Down Town Allen ($3.40) turned back a bid from the 8-5 second choice Red Hot Diva and drove clear under Matt McGowan to win the 1 1/8-mile race by 1 3/4 lengths in 1:53.61. In winning for the 25th time in 41 starts, Down Town Allen collected $30,600 to push her career bankroll to $1,029,387. Red Hot Diva, who won last year’s My Sister Pearl by a neck, was hampered when she raced four wide on the first two turns of the three-turn race. Flirting Song finished third at 6-1.
