Matt Dinerman has been named track announcer for the Oaklawn Park meet that opens Dec. 8, the Hot Springs, Ark., track announced Friday. Dinerman, 31, comes to Oaklawn from Golden Gate Fields, where he has been the announcer for six years. He replaces Vic Stauffer, who parted ways with Oaklawn last March after more than six years in Hot Springs. Dinerman is a native of San Diego and a graduate of Chapman University. He spent time working for the Southern California-based trainer John Sadler in high school and later was part of the publicity team at Del Mar. Dinerman is a past announcer at Emerald Downs and also has regularly called the races at Sonoma County Fair in Santa Rosa, Calif. “We are excited to welcome Matt Dinerman to our racing team at Oaklawn,” Wayne Smith, general manager of Oaklawn, said in a press release. “He brings a passion and high-energy style to the announcer’s booth that builds anticipation at each turn and reaches an exciting climax down the stretch and across the finish line.
