Despite racing over a track that was rated “good” due to plenty of rain brought on by hurricane Helene the night before, track records fell throughout the night during multiple $65,000 divisions of Ohio Sire Stakes action at Hollywood Dayton Raceway on Saturday (Sept. 28). The undefeated Rick Wink and driver Chris Page were the first to rewrite the record books as he stopped the timer in 1:52 to capture the first $65,000 Sire Stakes division for 2-year-old colt and gelding pacers. Extra Suds was second and Downbythewater third. The winner is trained and co-owned by Ron Burke (under Burke Racing Stb) for the partnership that includes R A S Racing & Knox Services, J&T Silva-Purnell & Libby. The son of Bit Of A Legend N is now perfect in eight starts, all in Ohio. Not to be outdone, stablemate Sippinonsearoc, with Page in the bike, started in the second $65,000 division and lowered the track record further by crossing the wire in 1:51 2/5. Owned by Burke, Weaver Bruscemi, R A S Racing and Knox Services, the son of Downbytheseaside led at every call while easily defeating Lather Up Athens and Ridin The Waves.   Sippinonsearoc owns the world record as the fastest 2-year-old pacer with a 1:48 2/5 mark at The Red Mile. The 2-year-old filly pacers got a name in the history ledger when Odds On Hialeah rolled down to the road through fractions of 26 3/5, 55 1/5, 1:23 25 and 1:52 1/5, besting Prolific Fire in second and Gorgeous Package in third. The final time by Odds On Hialeah, who is owned by Let It Ride Stables and Odds On Racing, eclipsed the previous mark set by Penpaperpaige set in 2019. Unfortunately for Odds On Hialeah, her Virgil Morgan Jr-trained stablemate Odds On Chesapeake was even better, coming first-over approaching three-quarters in 1:22 4/5 and stopping the clock in 1:51 4/5 with Dexter Dunn in the bike (he drove both Morgan Jr winners). The Odds On Racing-owned filly by Downbytheseaside defeated The Word Is Out and Odds On Collateral in the mile. The records were not reserved for pacers as LT Loverboy posted fractions of 28 3/5, 57 4/5 and 1:26 4/5 on his way to a 1:56 2/5 final time with Brett Miller in the bike for trainer Dan Harvey in the 2-year-old colt and gelding trot. The mark eclipsed a 2018 record for 2-year-old gelding trotters. Wayne Mast Jr and Callam Racing LLC own LT Loverboy, who beat Scrappys Love and Battle Hill $65,000 race. The second division for the male trotters went to Oso Fast in 1:58 3/5 for the same ownership group. The Scott Cox trainee was used hard to the front, set fractions of 28 2/5, 58 4/5 and 1:28 while holding on late for driver David Miller. Stud Muffin T was second and Hilltop Sonar third. In the 2-year-old filly trot it was Mocha Hill who set very slow fractions of 28 4/5, 58 4/5, 1:28 1/5 en route to a very easy 1:57 2/5 victory over Aunt Laura and Mia Sangria. Chris Page drove the winner for trainer Ron Burke, who shares ownership with Hatfield Stables, Weaver Bruscemi and Knox Services. The other $65,000 filly trot division went to Dream Something in 1:58 2/5 for trainer Miles Wollam and driver Tyler Smith. Rose Run Allison just missed in second and Brink Street was third. Wollam also owns the daughter of Uncle Peter with Julie Ann Sweet and Dale Sweet. Chris Page was the leading driver in the Sire Stakes on the night with four winners. Dexter Dunn led the card with six victories including sweep four $250,000 Dayton Derby stakes.
