Colonial Downs will move its Thursday and Friday cards this week to next Monday and Tuesday, track officials said Tuesday. The cards will go as drawn. The decision to reschedule was made in consideration of the possible impact caused by Tropical Storm Debby, which could lead to adverse racing conditions as well as hazardous conditions for those shipping or traveling to participate at the New Kent, Va., track. Officials at Colonial Downs plan to make an announcement by 5 p.m. Wednesday on the status of Saturday’s 12-race card that includes the Grade 1 Arlington Million and the Beverly D. and Secretariat Stakes, both Grade 2 races. Those three races, as well as the listed Andy Guest and Van Clief Stakes are scheduled to be run on turf. As of Tuesday, more than an inch of rain was forecast between Thursday and Saturday morning. :: Subscribe to the DRF Post Time Email Newsletter: Get the news you need to play today's races!
