Charlene’s Dream led throughout Saturday’s $66,060 Golden Gate Debutante at Golden Gate Fields to win her second consecutive stakes, and first on the synthetic main track. The second choice in a field of six, Charlene’s Dream stormed to a clear lead shortly after the start and was never troubled through the six-furlong race, winning by 1 3/4 lengths over 2-5 favorite Grand Slam Smile. Ridden by Evin Roman, Charlene’s Dream ($7.40) was timed in 1:10.52 and earned a career-best Beyer Speed Figure of 72. Grand Slam Smile stalked Charlene’s Dream on the backstretch but could not keep pace with the leader.
