Jockey Kendrick Carmouche will be out three to four weeks due to a hairline fracture in his right leg, his agent, Jimmy Riccio Jr., said late Friday afternoon. According to Riccio, Carmouche got stepped on by a horse he had worked Thursday morning at Belmont Park. Carmouche rode his first two mounts on Thursday before going to first aid, where he was taken off his remaining three mounts on the card, two of which won. Riccio said Friday morning that Carmouche appeared to be fine. Riccio said Carmouche sent those X-rays to his personal doctor, who saw the hairline fracture. :: Bet the races with a $200 First Deposit Match and FREE Formulator PPs! Join DRF Bets. Ricco said Carmouche would visit his doctor again in two weeks to see how much progress is made and when he may be able to start getting on horses again. Carmouche was named on nine horses Sunday at Aqueduct, including Interpolate in the $100,000 Ruthless Stakes. Carmouche, the leading rider at the Aqueduct fall meet, is currently third in the standings at the winter meet with 23 wins. He trails Dylan Davis (28) and Manny Franco (25). Riccio said that he will be assisting Frankie Pennington, primarily based at Parx,  who will begin riding at Aqueduct next week. The two tracks do not race on the same days. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering? Check out DRF's Handicapping 101 and Wagering 101 pages.
