Tin Top Cat held off favorite Bella Diamante by a neck to win the $60,000 Genesis at Delta Downs on Friday night and give her trainer, Bret Calhoun, and jockey, Bobby Walker Jr., a sweep of the two stakes on the card. Earlier in the night, Calhoun and Walker teamed to win the $60,000 Triple Sec with Coyote Legend. Tin Top Cat came into the race off a win in the $50,000 Bara Lass at Sam Houston Race Park. She races for Jerry Durant and Bill Jordan and is a candidate for the $125,000 fillies division of the Texas Stallion Stakes at Sam Houston on Feb. 20. Coyote Legend ($15) closed from next to last to win the Triple Sec by 6 1/2 lengths. He, too, was making his two-turn debut Friday and covered seven furlongs in 1:26.50.
