Snowyte will attempt to accomplish the same feat as her sire next month when she tries to win her maiden in a Breeders’ Cup race at Del Mar. Good Magic did so in the Juvenile in 2017, while Snowyte is on deck for the Grade 1, $2 million Juvenile Fillies on Nov. 1. She was one of 11 pre-entered in the 1 1/16-mile race, alongside Breeders’ Cup Challenge winners Immersive, Non Compliant, and Scottish Lassie. Final entries will be taken Monday. Snowyte was favored over Scottish Lassie last out in the Frizette and finished second in the one-turn mile after finding herself farther off the pace than anticipated. It’s one of the reasons trainer Danny Gargan has elected to pre-enter the maiden in the Breeders’ Cup. “Her last race she got left at the gate and she’s supposed to be up on the lead, and we just felt like she didn’t get the chance to showcase what she really is,” he said. “And the farther the better with her. We think we belong. Good Magic didn’t break his maiden until the Breeders’ Cup.” :: ON SALE NOW: DRF Breeders' Cup Packages! Get everything you need to win and save 41% off the retail price. Snowyte follows a similar pattern into the Breeders’ Cup as her sire, who ran second in both a maiden special weight at Saratoga and the Champagne before moving to two turns in the Juvenile. The maiden race Snowyte ran second in Sept. 1 at Saratoga was won by Quickick, who was pre-entered in the Juvenile Fillies after running second to Immersive in the Alcibiades. The third-place finisher in the maiden race was Scottish Lassie, who returned in her next start for a nine-length win in the Frizette. “It was the best maiden race in the country,” Gargan said. “My filly needed her first race. We were just getting her started and she ran huge that day, and I think she’s going to get better with age. “The filly that beat us the other day ran huge. I don’t know if we’d have beat her the other day, but I think we would have been closer to her if we had a different trip. That filly is going to have to run that race back, and we didn’t run hard the other day, so I think well go forward.” Luis Saez will be reunited with Snowyte after missing the Frizette mount because he was at Keeneland that day, Gargan said. Snowyte was to have flown from New York to Del Mar on Wednesday. :: BREEDERS’ CUP JUVENILE FILLIES: See DRF’s special section with top contenders, odds, comments, news, and more “We’ll breeze her once out there, probably Friday or Saturday,” Gargan said. There are four Southern California-based runners pre-entered in the Juvenile Fillies – Non Compliant, who won the Oak Leaf; Nooni, who like Non Compliant is trained by Bob Baffert; and Vodka With a Twist and So There She Was, who finished a respective second and third in the Grade 1 Del Mar Debutante. La Cara, winner of the Pocahontas at Churchill for trainer Mark Casse, joins fellow Kentucky-based runners Immersive and Quickick as the Midwest set traveling to Southern California. American Bikini and Otomena Shacho both come to the race from Japan. The Juvenile Fillies could have had a maximum gate of 14, so all who pre-entered are insured a spot in the starting gate. It will be run as the seventh race, and Immersive has been made the early 3-1 favorite on the Daily Racing Form line set by David Aragona. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
