Immersive is scheduled to work Friday at Churchill Downs as she continues preparations for the Grade 1, $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies on Nov. 1 at Del Mar. The work will be her first since her Oct. 4 win in the Grade 1 Alcibiades at Keeneland. She emerged from the race in excellent condition, trainer Brad Cox said Tuesday. Immersive made her two-turn debut in the Alcibiades and is now 3 for 3. Her record includes a Grade 1 win at one turn in the Spinaway at Saratoga, and she is the early 3-1 favorite for the Juvenile Fillies on the Daily Racing Form line set by David Aragona. “We plan on breezing her Friday at Churchill,” Cox said. “She’ll have two works here at Churchill. That’s the plan right now. We ship out on Monday, October 28th.” Immersive is by Nyquist. Her dam is from the female family of Grade 1 winners Madcap Escapade and Dubai Escapade. Quickick, runner-up in the Alcibiades, is under serious consideration for the 1 1/16-mile Juvenile Fillies. She breezed a half-mile in 48 seconds Tuesday at Churchill. Tom Amoss trains the daughter of McKinzie for Greg Tramontin. So There She Was, who won her maiden at Del Mar, is on deck for the Juvenile Fillies, trainer Doug O’Neill said Monday. She last raced Sept. 7, finishing third in the Grade 1 Del Mar Debutante. The decision was made to train her up to the Juvenile Fillies. “She’s already run four times, so I think just having her fresh and ready for the Breeders’ Cup will be a smart move,” O’Neill said. The Juvenile Fillies will be the first start at two turns for So There She Was. “She’s very honest, and I think she’s going to love the two turns,” O’Neill said. “She’s doing really well. “We’ve always thought she was pretty special and we’re going to get a chance to see where we’re at come Breeders’ Cup time.” So There She Was is a daughter of Munnings. She was second in the Debutante in June at Churchill before winning a maiden special weight over 6 1/2 furlongs at Del Mar. Antonio Fresu, who has been aboard for all of her races, has the mount in the Breeders’ Cup, O’Neill said.
