Jockey Forest Boyce earned her 1,000th career victory after she guided Determined Driver to a win in Friday's seventh race at Laurel Park. Trained by Phil Schoenthal, Determined Driver, the 2-1 second choice in the first-level allowance for 3-year-old fillies, settled off the pace, angled three wide into the stretch, then ran down odds-on favorite I'm a Cutie Pie in the final furlong. Determined Driver was Boyce's second winner on the Friday card. She booted home first-time starter Midsummers Eve ($13) to a last-to-first win in the third race. "I really appreciate all the support I've had this winter," Boyce said in a post-race interview broadcast by Laurel Park. "I've been pigeon-holed a bit as a turf rider, and everyone has helped me out and put me on some nice dirt horses in some good spots. It's been fun." :: Bet the races with a $200 First Deposit Match + FREE All Access PPs! Join DRF Bets.
