ELMONT, N.Y. - Darrin’s Dilemma, bet early and often, lived up to her 1-4 odds with a front-running, 2 1/4-length victory under Ramon Dominguez in Wednesday’s $100,000 Times Square division of the New York Stallion Stakes for 3-year-olds at Belmont Park. Freud’s Honor finished second, three lengths ahead of Warrior Up. The Times Square was originally scheduled for this past Sunday, but did not have enough entries to be carded. Wednesday, Darrin’s Dilemma took the lead soon after the start and raced uncontested through a quarter-mile of 23.08 seconds, a half-mile in 46.04, and six furlongs in 1:10.56. Dominguez went to his left-handed whip two times before peeking under his right shoulder and putting the stick away. Darrin’s Dilemma, a son of Freud owned by Michael Dubb and the Bethlehem Stables of Michael Caruso and trained by Rudy Rodriguez, covered the 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:17.55 and returned $2.60. Streaker returns in allowance race Streaker had won the first three starts of her career when she entered the starting gate for last year’s Grade 1 Acorn Stakes. A rough trip resulted in a last-place finish and a lengthy vacation. Friday, Streaker returns to the races for the first time in 11 months in a third-level allowance race going six furlongs. It will be the shortest distance at which Streaker has raced. Trainer Shug McGaughey said that Streaker came out of the Acorn “banged up” and was given some time off. McGaughey said he had Streaker ready to run around April 1, but couldn’t find a race for h er. “I got to train her a little more, and I’m looking forward to running her on Friday,” McGaughey said. The six-furlong ace also will be the return of Katy Now to the races. Katy Now finished fourth as the favorite in the Grade 3 Victory Ride Stakes last summer at Saratoga before finishing 12th of 13 in the Grade 2 Raven Run at Keeneland last Oct. 23.
