The pick six has survived two straight cards at Saratoga, leading to a double carryover of $291,756 when racing resumes on Wednesday. The sequence begins in Race 5, which has an approximate post time of 3:14 p.m. Eastern.  Race 5: The sequence begins with a 6 1/2-furlong sprint for maiden 2-year-old  fillies bred in New York. Three of the 10 fillies entered were defeated as the favorite in their respective debuts – #3 More Mischief, #6 Chillinwithfriends, and #8 No Stone Unturned. Of those three, Chillinwithfriends clearly ran the best race and is a must use. More Mischief didn't run nearly as well, but she has the built-in excuse of catching a sloppy track, and it would be wise to give this $350K purchase another chance over a fast track. The other horses I am most interested in are #1 Zip It Jess, switching to dirt with some pedigree after sprinting on turf in her debut, and #10 Midnitesalright, who flashed better speed over a wet track in the Lynbrook last time after chasing wide in her debut. A: 1,6 B:  3,10 Race 6: #8 Sensible Myth is taking a big class drop for this race after failing to contend in a stakes race at Laurel when last seen. Anyone of her prior three starts make her the clear horse to beat as she drops in class for trainer George Weaver who won three races here last weekend, all of them on turf. I would lean there while using #1A Jazzy Juder as the other horse in the pick six.  Jazzy Juder didn't earn an improved figure for her most recent start, which was her first for trainer Jeremiah Englehart, but she certainly ran an improved race while rating early and then launching into a wide run to contention around the turn before weakening late. A: 8 B: 1A Race 7: This six-furlong sprint for New York-bred fillies and mares has pulled a field of 10 and may require some coverage without a standout. #2 Y'all Wicked didn't break sharply from the gate in her main-track debut two starts back, but she had speed to chase forward to contest the pace and then prevail in a stretch duel. She came right back in her next start to dominate open allowance rivals with a new Beyer top. I prefer her upside but also will prominently use the logical #4 Fair Regis and new face #6 Lucky Move, turning back off the trainer change with some pace to close into.  A: 2 B: 4,6 C: 1,3 :: Wager on Wednesday's pick six at Saratoga with DRF Bets Race 8: #9 Aveenu Malcainu is lightly raced so far as a 3-year-old, which isn't necessarily a great sign. However, he has faced better than this since winning his first two career starts last year, including the $100K Funny Cide over this track, and he exits an underrated try contesting a fast pace in the Mike Lee when last seen. If he runs his best race off the layoff he is going to be tough. If he doesn't, this race is wide open. I'll lean to him while using #7 Ultimateenticement (also exiting that fast-paced Mike Lee, where he was unexpectedly sent to the lead) and #11 Stretch's Stone.  A: 9 B: 7,11 Race 9: Scratches have completely changed the complexion of the Grade 3 With Anticipation. With the two horses I was most interested in being pulled from the race, Mike Maker's #7 Somelikeithotbrown becomes much tougher to beat. He had a nice pace setup when rolling over maidens in his turf debut last time (in a race that was run at the wrong distance), but he was impressive and figures tough if he can back that effort up. #8 Opry had his career debut rained off the grass earlier in the meet but he ran well in that spot after a bit of a slow start and he is bred to move up getting to turf this time. Of the two Phil Gleaves runners I preferred Yes and Yes. Since he has scratched I will now use #9 Swamp Rat as a backup. A: 8 B: 7, 9 Race 10: Difficult race for older New York-bred maidens routing on turf to close out the sequence. #4 Pirelli Tower has been disappointing in his two most recent starts after just missing in his debut, but he is a horse that has to be used in the pick six. #5 Jimmy Jazz has made two starts thus far, both of them in tough spots for the level, and he has run pretty well in those races while appearing to still be a work in progress. #7 High Conviction was a $350K 2-year-old in training purchase who never made it to the races last year for trainer Chad Brown. That is not a great sign, but he has some pedigree, and it would be no surprise to find out that he can run. For wider tickets, #9 The Sheik of Araby is making his 3-year-old and turf debut off a layoff as a new gelding, and he is bred for the surface switch as a son of Grade 2 turf winner The Niagra Queen, and #10 Whiskey Run has dangerous speed stretching out off a pair of sprints.  A: 4,5 B: 7,9,10
