Not Too Bad and Foxy Baroness, the two runners at the top of the weights, are expected to dominate a one-mile handicap at Narromine Racecourse in Australia on Monday evening. Both have won in recent months, leaving them well positioned for additional success in a field of seven in the first of seven races at Narromine. The program begins at 10:10 p.m. Eastern or 7:10 p.m. Pacific. Wagering is available through DRFBets.com. Not Too Bad, who will carry topweight of 136.6 pounds, won a one-mile handicap at Wellington on Nov. 19 to end a five-race losing streak. A winner of 5 of 23 starts, Not Too Bad was always near the front and won by 2 1/4 lengths. The style could be effective at Narromine in a race that lacks a clear leader. :: Get free past performances, analysis, and picks for Australian racing Trained by Kieren Hazelton, Not Too Bad will start for the first time at Narromine, but should have no difficulty with the distance, having won 3 of 10 starts at a mile. Foxy Baroness, who races from well off the pace, won a seven-furlong handicap at Coonabarabran on Oct. 22 and has since finished second and sixth in one-mile handicaps. On Nov. 12 at Warren, Foxy Baroness closed from 11th of 13 and was beaten slightly less than 1 1/2 lengths when sixth. She closed with a rush but could not catch race winner Lady Cornelia, who carried 118 pounds. Foxy Baroness carried 124.5 pounds at Warren. At Narromine, Foxy Baroness will carry 131 pounds, and starts from the inside post. Foxy Baroness, a 5-year-old mare who has won 2 of 14 starts, runs consistently from off the pace, which means the post position may not pose a traffic problem. The race lost a leading runner after entries when Talkachino was scratched on Sunday. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering? Check out DRF's Handicapping 101 and Wagering 101 pages.
