Jaxon Traveler won the $100,000 Zia Park Sprint in near track-record time Tuesday, when he covered six furlongs in a blazing 1:07.37. The time was .24 seconds off a 12-year-old track record, said Zia track announcer John McGary. The race was one of seven stakes making up the $1.1 million Land of Enchantment card. The program was led by the $300,000 Zia Park Derby. Jaxon Traveler ($5.40) settled off an opening quarter in 21.66 seconds before taking the lead through a half-mile in 43.83. He opened up on his rivals in the later stages, for a 5 1/2-length win over Prayer of Jabez. It was the third straight stakes victory on the card for trainer Steve Asmussen and jockey Joel Rosario. Jaxon Traveler is a son of Munnings who races for West Point Thoroughbreds. Join DRF Bets. American Rascal ($2.60) sat off an opening quarter in 22.55 seconds, then moved to the fore through a half-mile in 44.91. American Rascal went on to cover six furlongs on a fast track in 1:08.88. American Rascal is a son of Curlin who races for his breeder, Stonestreet Stables. He is the first foal from the mare Lady Aurelia, a stakes winner of more than $800,000. Asmussen and Rosario won the $100,000 Distaff with Topsy, who closed with a rush to catch Canoodling. It was the first career stakes win for Topsy, a daughter of Bee Jersey who races for Bill and Corinne Heiligbrodt and Jackpot Farm. Topsy won by a length while covering six furlongs in 1:08.59. She paid $5.40.   Rosario won a fourth stakes on the card when he captured the $300,000 Zia Park Oaks aboard Flying Connection ($2.10) for trainer Todd Fincher. Zia Championship Mine That Star went over $500,000 in earnings Tuesday, when he forged past Presidential in the late stages for a 1 1/4-length win in the $125,000 Zia Park Championship. Mine That Star ($5.80) tracked Presidential for much of the1 1/8-mile race for which there were no posted fractions. Mine That Star was able to push past the leader and covered the distance on a fast track in 1:49.69. Ken Tohill was aboard for trainer Nancy Summers. Bye Bye Bobby finished third and Paluxy was fourth in the race that scratched down to four runners with the defection of Promise Keeper. Mine That Star is a half-brother to Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird. He has now won 10 of 24 starts for earnings of $563,161. The son of Pioneerof the Nile is owned by Judge Lanier Racing. Zia Princess Candy Aisle won her second straight stakes race when she held off a fast-closing Tx Women for Arts in the $100,000 Zia Park Princess. Candy Aisle ($5) settled off fractions of 21.88 seconds for the opening quarter and 44.12 for the half-mile. In the stretch, she got through along the inside and got to the wire before a rolling Tx Women for the Arts. Candy Aisle came into the race off win over male rivals in the Manzano at the Downs at Albuquerque. Candy Aisle is a half-sister to Offering Plan, a five-time stakes winner with earnings of $891,573.
